Artfully-styled bungalow in the heart of it all!

Summary:
Located in the hip neighborhood of Normal Heights, this charming bungalow is your home while enjoying San Diego. Owned by a fashion designer & musician, this home is designed to reflect the artistry of the husband and wife duo, and is sure to be the backdrop for an unforgettable stay! It’s a perfect central home base for family vacations, Comic Con, Pride, and music/craft brew festivals.

The Space:
This charming Craftsman is full of custom-printed textiles, original art & photography, and hand-painted touches. Make music with a tacked piano and vinyl record collection, enjoy cocktail hour in the private courtyard, or family & friend time in the sun-drenched living room.

Washer/Dryer is shared with studio unit in back (located on the patio).

The Neighborhood:
Walk to Adam's Avenue to enjoy craft coffee & cocktails, buzzy local eateries, and live music. Normal Heights is one of the fastest growing neighborhoods in San Diego at the moment, with unique shopping, nightlife and family-friendly spots. Trolley Barn park is a gorgeous playground & park, and is a quick drive. Beaches are close--just a quick 15-min drive to the nearest one!

Getting Around:
Besides the one reserved space behind the house, there's also street parking. However, at certain times it can be challenging to find a spot. Please also be aware of street sweeping days so you don't end up with a parking ticket.

Other Things to Note:
This house has an additional guest studio in back. It is completely detached, no walls are shared. The studio guests may use street parking only--the parking space between the two units is reserved just for you! Please note that the washer/dryer is located on the patio of the guest studio. This is the only aspect of the property that is shared with other guests.

Pets are welcome with prior approval and additional $125 pet fee per pet.
**No pets without prior written approval. If you're bringing a pet, you must follow airbnb's pet rules: dispose of all pet waste properly, never leave pet unattended in the home or backyard, and keep dogs leashed when walking them outside of the home.

San Diego now requires all guests to sign a Good Neighbor Policy document prior to staying. We do enforce their policy so it must be signed in order to receive checkin info, but we will make it super easy for you to initial and sign :) It can all be done online.

My family and I spent time here to help my son with recovery from surgery since we live out of state. The house was decorated nicely and had a more modern look. There is a gas stove which I love and the location is convenient to food, stores, mall, and much more. A bonus was having dedicated parking.Recommended Improvements:(1) Add dressers due to lack of drawers for clothes.(2) Fix door viewer because the latch is broken and it lets the cold/warm air into the house.(3) Add an AC to other areas of the house since only one wall unit located in the living didn’t provide enough cooling into the bedrooms. (4) Fix deadbolt because the door will open with a strong pull on the handle.(5) Add curtains or blinds to the bedroom windows due to the bright streetlight shining through at night.

I will start with the positives: location is fantastic, beds are comfy, sheets were crisp and clean, amenities are pretty decent (we didn’t use the stove or oven), bathroom was clean. Negatives: the house had a weird odor (like pet urine), the floors weren’t very clean (my father’s white socks were filthy after walking around), the courtyard area could have used some nicer outdoor furniture, one of the bedroom windows wouldn't close and some of the windows needed curtains or shades.

We wanted a place close to San Diego State University but also in a fun area to explore. Great location and secure parking was a necessity for our move. Cardo Vacations was very responsive and helpful with all our inquiries. My only recommendation would be to possibly update outside furniture and clean free of Spiders and webs. Highly recommend!

The process of renting and accessing the facility was great as was the process of keeping me informed. The facility was neat and clean. I have two recommendations. First. You do need some minor maintenance (e.g. loose door handles, minor mold in the bath tub, etc.). Second. You really need to put up some black-out curtains in the bedrooms. The street lights and early morning sunshine made sleeping a little bit of a challenge.

We stayed for a month with two dogs. It’s a bit cozy and sometimes the neighbors like to be a bit loud, but you’re a quick drive or Uber from the best spots in town. Parks within walking distance for the dogs. Codes for the front gate and door made me feel safe. Check-in/out we’re very easy and when I had issues/questions, the property manager was on it immediately. There is a cooling unit in the front room that does a good job of keeping the house warm with the exception of the back master room, which needs a tower fan for comfort level.

It was perfect for just the few days we were there. I know a lot of places in SD don’t have AC, it was comfortable the back room was hot but with the fan it worked for us. We really liked how the “garage” was close it was a tight squeeze with our rental but again it worked for us.

Just getting away for a couple of days with the family. This property is within 10 mins of Zoo and Balboa park which is very convenient. It is also only a couple minutes from North Park which has a great choice of restaurants and bars. Great having private gated parking as SD can be tough to find parking in. Host were extremely easier to work with and very responsive.

This is a sweet little house that has been nicely refurbished. The only thing that was difficult was parking. The assigned parking was unavailable. Street parking is difficult. But the house was amazing!

It’s a cute spot with comfy spaces. Pros: Clean inside Easy private parking 20 minutes to La Jolla, Balboa Park, and Coronado Great kitchen Prompt communication The only improvement I would suggest is cleaning the outdoor furniture from any cobwebs.
