Creekside Cottage

Wootton Creek is a tidal estuary which flows into the Solent on the north coast of the island. Being located near water gives this property a sense of tranquillity, with views down the creek from the communal gardens, taking in the house boats which are tucked along the edge of the creek.

Stepped back from the neighbouring property and being the end of the block, this house benefits from a corner garden, lined by trees along the roadside. Enter the property via a decked area and through French doors into a spacious lounge, furnished with two bentwood chairs and a comfortable corner sofa, which is perfectly placed to watch the wall mounted TV. A fully equipped kitchen is found at the rear of the property, with a door taking you out to a wooden terrace, where al fresco dining is a must at any time of the day, whether during the summer months or wrapped up warm as the Autumn nights draw in.

Access the two bedrooms on the first floor by taking the staircase leading from the small hallway in between the lounge and kitchen. Upstairs the double bedroom has views out towards garden and creek, whilst the back twin room has the privacy of the back garden. Both rooms have ensuites, with showers.

LOCATION:



The village of Wootton has a selection of pubs and handful of shops catering for last minute needs, including a grocery store, a chemist and Post Office, along with a renowned fish and chip shop, ideal for days no one wants to volunteer to do the cooking!



Firestone Copse is nearby and well-known for its red squirrels and wildlife. Whilst Woodside Bay beach is only a 15-minute walk. A part shingle, part sandy bay, this offers fantastic views across the Solent to Portsmouth’s landmark Spinnaker Tower, that forms an impressive backdrop to this busy shipping channel.

The local forests can be explored by foot or on horseback and for cyclists there is a choice of challenging off road bridleways, peaceful byways and level, purpose-made tracks running along former railway lines directly from the property.



A short drive will bring you to the seaside town of Ryde, which has a good selection of individual shops, restaurants, bars, tea rooms and a large sandy beach. The promenade offers traditional attractions, including fun fair rides and ten-pin bowling, whilst more active visitors can enjoy a variety of water sports, such as canoeing and swimming, in both the sea and the local pool.

PARKING: Creekside Cottage does not have an allocated parking space; however, there is plenty of parking available in the private parking area directly in front of the path leading to the property. You are welcome to park in any available space, and parking is usually available very close to the cottage.

PLEASE NOTE: Guests can choose to either pay a non-refundable damage waiver of £35 or provide a pre-authorised security deposit of £150 before check-in. If the security deposit option is selected, no money will be taken unless damage is reported at the property within 7 days after departure



This property offers a double sofa bed, If you would like us to supply linen for its use during your stay, this can be provided at an additional cost of £35, per stay. Please do make us aware at the time of booking / in advance of your stay if you require this service, so we can arrange to take payment and have the linen made available.



There is no electric car charger on site and guests are prohibited from using the mains electric in the property to charge a car.



IMPORTANT INFORMATION:



The Island Holiday Company are responsible for the full management of this property and should you need to contact us during your stay we are available between 9-5 Monday to Friday, We also operate an out of hours emergency service on the weekends - please refer to your property brochure left inside the property, for further information and contact details.



No stag or hen parties are permitted at any of our properties.



There is a strict no smoking/vaping policy, inside all our properties.



No pets are allowed at this property



Linens and towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels and cot linen as necessary.



Please be respectful of the property and the neighbours during your stay; leaving the property as you found it on your arrival.



A breach of the above rules and guidelines could mean forfeiture of the Security Deposit.
