The property is located in an ideal location to access the many attractions of the historical, waterfront city of Portsmouth including the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard where you can visit the HMS Victory and HMS Warrior, Southsea Castle, the Mary Rose Museum and the D-Day museum which are all a short car or bus ride away. There is a vibrant shopping centre at Gunwharf Quays where you can also visit the many restaurants and the Spinnaker Tower. In old Portsmouth you can walk along the old walls and watch the ferries arrive from France, Spain and the Isle of Wight. Within walking distance is St Mary's Church (which some say is the finest Victorian building in Hampshire) and St Mary's hospital as well as many local shops and takeaway restaurants.
The University of Portsmouth is a 20 minute walk from the property so it is particularly suitable for current and prospective students, family members, friends and visiting academics and professionals. Portsmouth has many cultural, historical and music events throughout the year including Victorious music festival in August every year, Southsea. The property is conveniently located for both the international and Isle of Wight Ferry terminals. The kitchen is fully equipped so guests can cater for themselves and relax in the sitting room at the dining room table or on the sofa and watch freeview TV/DVD. The two upstairs bedrooms are light and airy with double beds and also a desk if you have to work or study during your visit. One bedroom overlooks the quiet street while the other overlooks the garden and surrounding gardens. The downstairs bedroom has a single bed and overlooks the street. The courtyard garden is a real suntrap in the summer where you can dine alfresco if you wish or just enjoy a cup of coffee. There is a direct private entrance from the street. Please note that the bathroom is downstairs and the stairs up are short but rather steep
