"As we arrived to check in the lady was lovely and took us to our room and explained if we needed anything to let her know, which was a lovely. The room was unique as it is in a pub and it did have an en-suite with a shower. The only down side is the sink is low down and you can hit your head on the shelf that is attached to the mirror. We did not try the breakfast But overall we had a great stay."

"Good hotel and comfortable bed. Had cancel the second night as the hotel was closed. Access for an 81 year old was very difficult. Lots of stairs to manage. The very cold weather made it even more difficult. The manager was very good and helpful. We hope to get a refund for the second night. The location was excellent and the pub was very quirky and quite special. "

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chestnut Tree. Lisa, the host was the main reason, she is a great communicator which is important when booking. She was so very helpful with local information and incredibly kind. Our room was beautiful and the amenities in the bathroom delightful. The area is beautiful but with only one night, we didn’t get the change to do much exploring. Next time. Thank you Lisa for a wonderful stay."

"My husband and I stayed on a Saturday night in November as a birthday treat. We stayed in the loft suite. This room is clean, cosy beautifully decorated. The bathroom is amazing ! We absolutely loved the jetted bathtub. It really was a selling point for us. Breakfast was very nice. Lovely fresh eggs. We enjoyed having our own private dining toom too. Paul was very nice and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be coming back again. Thank you ."

"- Room not that clean, baby found loads of hairs and things. - post-booking I got loads of repetitive spam messages to check in online days before arrival. - Facilities have restricted use, e.g. no children at pool 10am-6pm! The only reason we stayed there was so the wife can rest at the pool with the baby. - Restaurant food was pub quality but Michelin price. - "Entry" to breakfast ends at 9:30 not 10 as advertised. "Too many notes telling you not to scratch things. It was nothing like as described on website. Spoon holding the window fastener, other windows held together with duck tape. . Felt damp in there so needed heat. Bedding wasn’t Egyptian cotton, bottom sheet was pea green. Tap just dribbled water out of wash basin. Lane and track down to property was terrible, full of holes. We didn’t stay for breakfast or to sleep there."

"Reception was excellent. Grounds/estate amazing, miles of walking and an historic church with a 900 or so old Yew. It is worth reading the history of the place, layers and layers of it. They take beautiful care of the property. I had a beautiful room with a beautiful view right out my doors and a little patio.
