The Space:

This one-level, Rockaway Beach vacation home has a vintage. mid-century aesthetic, two cozy bedrooms, and a lovely sun room for reading or socializing. And when you stay here, you can bring up to two pets so there's no need to leave the dogs at home!



At this great location in Rockaway Beach, you'll be on the west side of Highway 101, with easy beach access just across the street. Upper Crust Pizza is just a couple of blocks away if you don't feel like cooking, and all the hubbub of downtown is less than four blocks south. Shops, galleries, and restaurants are all within walking distance of your charming Rockaway Beach cottage.



From the sidewalk, a flight of stairs leads up to the front door of this beach-side getaway. Retreat to the spacious living room for a night in front of the fire, curl up with a good book in one of the plush chairs, or pop in a DVD and have a family movie night. On the nights you do want to cook dinner, a full kitchen is stocked with major appliances (including a dishwasher), as well as counter-top gadgets like a toaster and blender.



The two bedrooms include a queen-size bed and two twins for the kids. A futon in the sun room makes a relaxing and scenic extra sleeping option. There's also a full bathroom, washer and dryer, cable, a gas grill, and board games to spread out on the coffee table. Up to two dogs are welcome, but please note that there's a small nightly pet fee.



This retro-style Auntie's Cottage is ideal for family retreat of up to six. Rockaway Beach is perfectly situated on the North Oregon Coast for day trips to Manzanita, Cannon Beach, Wheeler, and Tillamook. There's so much to explore in this area, all within about a 30 minute drive—sample local cheese, browse galleries, go antiquing, or just hang around Rockaway Beach and fly kites down on the sand!

Great little stay.

The house has some wear and tear that could be addressed mostly in the bathroom. But it’s a great little place for a short stay with the family. My 15yr old slept in the sunroom and really enjoyed the view waking up. I would definitely stay here for a day or 2 in the future.

Great inexpensive stay

Property was just fine for an inexpensive weekend away. Everything was clean and neat when we arrived. Kitchen utensils, silverware could have been better. I’m sure for most people that’s not a problem as they eat out.I’m not sure it really sleeps six. The pulled out couch is in the sunroom. There is heat out there, but I think it would be breezy.

Cozy and homey

Auntie's house was overall a nice place to stay, it was spacious enough for our party of 4, all amenities were in good working condition and everything was relatively clean. The only thing I would say was not up to par was the floor, though it looked clean there was quite a lot of dog hair, stuck to socks and anything that was set on the floor, There was also some human hair on some of the towels. I would be careful leaving food out as there were ants that found our cooler bag and were occasionally found on the floor and in the bedrooms. Be aware that the bathroom connects the bedrooms and is not accessible from the living room so privacy is somewhat limited, there is also no latch on the one bedroom door. That being said, i would definitely stay here again, the beach view was beautiful and the place smelled nice and felt safe.

Pleasant Stay

Cute little house that is near the beach. I enjoyed the front entrance room, or sun room, that overlooked the coast and see the waves. I rested in the futon, just listening to the waves crash and roll. Very relaxing. The beds were good and the place was clean. I’ll probably stay here when I get to that area again.

Fun weekend getaway

The rental house was decent. Not the best but not the worst. The listing gave the impression that you had a view of the beach, and you do, it's just ever so slight. There are a row of rentals in front of this rental that blocked the view. It was a very easy walk to the beach, less than a minute, so it slightly made up for the lack of view. The house is stocked with basic cooking items and had a coffee pot but it lacked things like tin foil and suran wrap. The strangest thing we noticed was the lack of light bulbs....none in any of the lamps in one of the rooms so we had to improvise and use one from a lamp in the living room. We were asked to strip the bed sheets to start a load of laundry prior to checking out and we were shocked and grossed out to find that pet hair covered the mattress covers. It makes you wonder if they only wash the sheets and not the rest of the bedding. We really enjoyed the VHS selection and that there was a VCR and a DVD player so we had a few relaxing evenings watching nosalgic movies. We had a nice weekend and the rental is in a perfect location to go sightseeing up and down the coast.

Overall a good stay, the house was clean and matches the description from VRBO. I would recommend replacing kitchen cookware as it is very worn out. I would also recommend fixing the dry rot in the bathroom. The floor is very soft and needs repair.

Awkward seating, missing lights and dirty pans

The seating is very awkward. The is 1 sofa in the living room and the TV is on the opposite wall, about 60 feet away. To even visit, we needed to grab a couple of random chairs. Seems to me it would be very easy to pick up a cheap sectional somewhere or loveseat. The house was had at least 3 bulbs out in above the kitchen table and the hood above the stove didn't have light bulbs at all. When we went to cook, the pan that were teflon were incredibly scratched and pealing. As a cancer survivor, this was not an option for me to use. It is common knowlegde that teflon is not healthy to use in this condition. So I just grabbed the stainless steal pans and they were put away dirty. I didn't understand that but just washed them and then cooked with them. We also found a dirty laytex glove on the kitchen floor. I am not convinced that the owners actually receive the feedback. I checked the site and there is not even a review of this house in 2023. Seems to me that the owners would make some changes and ensure these things were taken care of. The location was great, but need some attention to the details.

Nice little rental with a great location

A homey little rental, perfect for about 4 people, within close distance of beach access. We had family staying at the Rockaway Beach Resort, and this little house was right across the street. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Older home close to the beach

This is a prefab home on a small hill (about 15 wood steps to access the house) only 120 yards to the nearest beach access. The home is quite old, and there’s probably some settling of the foundation as the floors were slightly sloped and there is some water damage on the floor near the shower. Despite the home and furnishings being older (70s or 80s maybe), I commend the cleaner as they really did a very good job with it being tidy - no dust, no stray hairs, no sand. My only complaint was that the shower liner was mildewy (as they all get after a while) and the management immediate dropped off a new liner and shower curtain. The walk to the beach was incredibly easy. The sunroom in the front of the home was a great place for my dog’s bed. There were tons of towels, of good quality and thickness. Living/family room space is a bit dark and long/narrow so we didn’t find that conducive to gathering there - we mostly just sat around the breakfast table in the kitchen. Best feature of this house is proximity to beach, and also really close to some food carts and coffee. Recommend the new taste of India cart!

House by the beach

The location of this house is incredible... just steps away from the beach. The neighbourhood was quiet and peaceful, and the beach was not crowded. Tons of extra linens and a lovely sitting room at the front of the house. The lockbox made it easy to check in. Everything was super clean. The only complaint was that the smoke alarm, located in the family room, was super sensitive and went off whenever we cooked. This happened when just warming bread up in the oven! We opened doors and windows, but had to fan the alarm to get it to turn off. Suggest replacing it or relocating it.

Quaint little home by the ocean

We loved our stay here, it was super quaint and just a walk away from the beach. The town of Rockaway is so beautiful and everyone is so friendly, would definitely stay here again.

an incredible home away from home

We loved this little house. It was so cozy, some views of the ocean, so close to the beach and the best stocked kitchen we have ever had in a rental home. We cook a lot so very much appreciated all the kitchen equipment. Super comfortable bed.

Just Ok

Not super happy with our stay at this location. There was dog hair all over, we had to open the master bedroom window as it stunk of dog, there were mouse droppings in the bathroom drawers and floor, a few of the lamps wouldn't turn on, gross stains on the master mattress, etc. One morning we woke up to loud noise and there was road construction in front of the house next door. Then they turned the water off. The owners live next door and they weren't notified that there would be road work and the possibility of the water being turned off? We should have been notified before our stay. We were forced out of the house as we couldn't make our lunch or use the toilets. When we contaced the owner they said, oh no! We'll contact the local manager......not helpful. They contacted us a few hours later saying they didn't know when the road work be done or when the water would be back on. We won't be back. The money we spent to stay was defiantly not worth the money for this subpar accommodation. If you have really, really low expectations you might be pleased.
