"A fantastic family run Guest House ideally situated for the Rock Fortress, Elephant Safari and Ancient Cities of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa. All the family made us feel at home. Dinesh who runs the place arranged all our trips for us. Rooms are clean and comfortable and set in a tropical jungle like garden. Meals were lovely and plenty of variety. We highly recommend this Guest House and would love to go back one day. "

"The hotel is in a wonderful location in terms of walkability but the rooms are on the main road. The staff was kind and helpful when needed but not proactive - they never showed me the pool or told me about dinner options or activities for the New Year that the hotel organized. The room was mostly clean but there was food left from the previous guest in the fridge and the bathroom had mold and really needs an upgrade. The room was also only cleaned on the 2nd but not the 3rd day of my 4 days...

"We had a wonderful stay at The Hungry Lion! The rooms are very clean and spacious, as are the common areas. The location is perfect: only a short walk to all of the restaurants and shops. Breakfast was incredible, by far the best we’ve had on our trip. The staff were very accommodating and cheerful. We will definitely be back. 10 out of 10 !"

"Staff was excellent. She made special vegetarian food for me. Lot of greenery. Room is ok not that great. Too many insects because of bushes and trees all around the property. Gieco running on the floor of the room. Had to go to the front desk every time for service. No phone/TV in the room. No light switch above the bed. Had to go to the front door to turn off lights and walk in the dark to the bed. Not convenient at all."

"Nice place to stay, staff are friendly although there're language barrier. They changed my room as requested because first room smelled little mold. Balcony is ok, but little dirty with bird poops. Overall it's not too bad for the price paid. It's not located in Sigirya town, 2km+ to lion rock."

"Unterkunft war schön, von innen einfach aber man hatte alles was man braucht. Besonders herausragend war das Personal, ich wurde jederzeit wenn ich einen Fahrer brauchte von jemandem gefahren oder abgeholt. Das Frühstück war jederzeit frisch und lecker."
