"Sadly, for a new building, it had squeaky floors and a squeaky shower basin. I always felt like when I stepped or did something. I was irritating the people who lived below me. Though I appreciated the room and amenities and the staff."

"We’ve stayed at Coast Bastion twice now and have enjoyed both of our stays. The hotel is conveniently located in downtown Nanaimo for exploring. It’s also newly renovated so the facility is really clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. We will stay here again the next time we visit Nanaimo."

"I was very impressed! I arrived very late. The staff had turned my room light on and had turned on the ac. I walked into such treat after a very long day of driving. Clean, quiet and restful!! Kudos to this place!!"

"At first we thought it was fairly clean but when I went to make breakfast I found a frying pan in the cupboard with rice and grease still on it. There is no salt or pepper or anything to make cooking a little easier while traveling. We had two big towels for 5 people. The master bedroom is on the main road and the sound of traffic is quite loud. It was expensive for what it is."

"They take photographs of peoples identification and scan it into their computer system. When I asked why did that without my consent they could not give me an answer or as to why they do it. It is a clear Breach of Prvacy Laws and they have been reported to the appropriate authorities. What they are doing is completely against the law."

"The room was small, the bathtub area had a lot of mould and mildew on the wall, there was no cream or coffee mate for the coffee."

"I cannot say enough great things about this place. It’s a must! The rooms are comfortable & cozy. I haven’t stayed in the castle yet, that’ll be next! Love love love this place. I’ll recommend it to everyone. And right by the beach too."
