So much so that we almost want to keep it a secret: The location is great (in the hillside above Florence), the space is amazing with high-quality furniture and materials, and the hosts are super friendly and accommodating. "This is a great place to stay when in Florence! The hotel is exquisitely decorated, location is unbearable and the room was very comfortable and spacious. The amenities supplied by the hotel are similar to those of a 5 star hotel. The only negative is that if you drive a car, to locate the hotel is not as straight forward and there is no parking nearby. "The place was everything we wanted and more. The perfect size house, beautiful grounds and pool, and I can’t imagine a better town (San Casciano) to be based out of. Sonia was the most wonderful host, giving us amazing information about the town and things to do in the area that we would have not found otherwise. We can’t recommend this place more highly!!!!"

"It is about 300 m walk to the residence once you get off the bus. It is about a five minute bus ride to Fiesole. Easy to get into Florence downtown with a 30 minute bus ride to Duomo. Nice hot shower! It could use a better bed. Other than that I’d stay again but having a car would be more convenient. Nice restaurant when you get off the bus. "

"The apartment is at the heart of the small village, central to several great restaurants and practically across the street from the incredible 11th century abbey. The place was very clean and has been recently renovated, but still had a very historic feel to it. Emanuel, our host, was very friendly and gracious. He offered several personal recommendations to restaurants and a wine tasting at a nearby castle, all of which were great! Would definitely stay here again!"

" I have done my research before booking my hotel in florence and nailed it with Calimala Hotel. Excellent hotel, perfect location (really, I came back like 3 times in one afternoon just to charge my phone or use the bathroom, it is that close from all the historical points of the city). My room wasn’t ready yet when I arrived, but it was before check in time. The room was very spacious, great shower, sheets and towels. Very good service before arrival, they made dinner reservations for me. Felt safe the whole time, because there are a lot of people around, its really in the center of the city. Also, the AC works really well, it was one of my worries but it was 36 celsius and the AC was doing the job. Calimala is the perfect choice, hope to come back soon! "
