"The hotel was under renovation and not providing any hot food only continental breakfast, as a diabetic I couldn't have the bread, yoghurt, cerials, jams or croissants. The continental breakfast were £15. We were not informed about the renovations before arrival, if we were we would have c. Cancelled. "

"Hotel staff is always welcoming and helpful and beds are super comfy. Hotel is located in a very convenient area when visiting areas around Wirral and a nice stop when travelling further south and free parking on site. "

"The room was clean and very compact, it lacked appeal but had most of the amenities you would want at this price. There is no interaction with staff at all as self check in, the heating wasn’t on although the radiator in the hall was hot, one curtain hardly covered the window, my room,2, was at the front of the property so people leaving the pub were talking loudly at 11.30/12pm and then again at 1am which woke me up, the shower was good, the wash basin so tiny you couldn’t get the tiny kettle...

"Valentines evening with overnight stay. Check in easy, mostly done online prior to arrival. Room was good size and very clean, hotel situated along side of busy A55, but road noise in room was minimal. Had small lunch and then dinner in the evening, the service from Heather was excellent, full of smiles and attentive, even though it was busy with the amount of staff they had on serving. "I have stayed at The Pied Bull twice in the last year when visiting from the US. I stayed in 2 different rooms, a twin and then a double, both in the main building. Both rooms were clean and comfortable. The pros are location, being convenient to everything that Chester has to offer including sightseeing, shops and places to eat. The price is also reasonable for being in the city center. The cons are no parking on site, although there are many options within a 10 minute walk from the property....
