"Very pleasantly surprised this is an absolute gem of a find. Easy access to Brighton by bus or car. Clean and comfortable rooms and great food. I’m a pescatarian so don’t eat meat so they are missing a trick with the Jamaican fayre as Mac & Cheese would have gone down well however great price and warm welcome and will come back again probably before the summer is finished."

"There actually was not a breakfast. However, the hotel includes a charming pub where we enjoyed an excellent pub lunch. As a whole we very much enjoyed the White Horse Inn. Our room seemed a little small and we shared a bathroom. We did find a restaurant within a short walking distance where we enjoyed breakfast. "

"Ockenden manor was beautiful and staff very accommodating and friendly. We were also upgraded at check in which was a nice surprise. "No parking as advertised. Staff were very casual - often sat on their phones on the sofa round the corner from the front desk. There was nowhere to hang the shower hose. It was just loose over the bath. They did fix it once I told them, but I would've expected it to have been addressed before my arrival. "Very nice room with a queen sized bed. Clean and well presented and separate from the pub which meant it was quiet. Hottest day of the year highlighted lack of a/c or fan. Would have liked more power sockets to charge phones etc but overall good accommodation, suitable tea and coffee making and complementary biscuits. "I was supposed to get book in details by WhatsApp before 3pm Friday they didn't come. Eventually someone appeared at 3.15 in the lobby if you could call it that. A window in the inside front door had been broken and was never replaced. Got to the room it was supposed to be a double. Fair enough it had double bed and just enough room to walk around it. The bathroom stunk on stale water. Would I stay here again? NO "

"Ideal as a HMO for down and outs. Very outdated decor, including furniture that should have been thrown out in the seventies. The windows do not shut properly, single glazing, so you could hear the crackheads arguing on the green opposite. Very narrow staircase, which was a struggle with large suitcases and no lift.
