"You need sharp eyesight to see the hotel as it's right on the roundabout. It was perfectly placed for where we needed to be the next day. Parking was not a problem. The room was an odd shape and in need of new carpet. The doors are fire doors and they really did Bang shut every time someone came in our out of the coach house. The staff were Friendly and very helpful without being intrusive . The tables in the restaurant felt sticky which slightly puts you off although the meals were...

"Very nice room with a queen sized bed. Clean and well presented and separate from the pub which meant it was quiet. Hottest day of the year highlighted lack of a/c or fan. Would have liked more power sockets to charge phones etc but overall good accommodation, suitable tea and coffee making and complementary biscuits. Breakfast was good, full English available buffet style. Nice pub and reasonable food for dinner. Great location for Bluebell Railway and Sheffield Park Gardens. Village...

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chestnut Tree. Lisa, the host was the main reason, she is a great communicator which is important when booking. She was so very helpful with local information and incredibly kind. Our room was beautiful and the amenities in the bathroom delightful. The area is beautiful but with only one night, we didn’t get the change to do much exploring. Next time. Thank you Lisa for a wonderful stay."

"Too many notes telling you not to scratch things. It was nothing like as described on website. Spoon holding the window fastener, other windows held together with duck tape. . Felt damp in there so needed heat. Bedding wasn’t Egyptian cotton, bottom sheet was pea green. Tap just dribbled water out of wash basin. Lane and track down to property was terrible, full of holes. We didn’t stay for breakfast or to sleep there."

"Very pleasantly surprised this is an absolute gem of a find. Easy access to Brighton by bus or car. Clean and comfortable rooms and great food. I’m a pescatarian so don’t eat meat so they are missing a trick with the Jamaican fayre as Mac & Cheese would have gone down well however great price and warm welcome and will come back again probably before the summer is finished."

"The bed was really uncomfortable, which was a surprise for a PI, as they pride themselves on the bed comfort. The bar was open late which was great. The parking is small, only 17 spots and you pay for this daily. "

"There actually was not a breakfast. However, the hotel includes a charming pub where we enjoyed an excellent pub lunch. As a whole we very much enjoyed the White Horse Inn. Our room seemed a little small and we shared a bathroom. We did find a restaurant within a short walking distance where we enjoyed breakfast. "

"As we arrived to check in the lady was lovely and took us to our room and explained if we needed anything to let her know, which was a lovely. The room was unique as it is in a pub and it did have an en-suite with a shower. The only down side is the sink is low down and you can hit your head on the shelf that is attached to the mirror. We did not try the breakfast But overall we had a great stay."

"Good hotel and comfortable bed. Had cancel the second night as the hotel was closed. Access for an 81 year old was very difficult. Lots of stairs to manage. The very cold weather made it even more difficult. The manager was very good and helpful. We hope to get a refund for the second night. The location was excellent and the pub was very quirky and quite special. "
