We love the Spanish Key complex. Perdido Key is a less congested area, and the pool at this building is wonderful. The pool and beach have never been too crowded during the three times we’ve stayed in this complex. However, Unit 406 was not as we remembered it from our stay three years ago. The unit had a musty odor and felt extremely damp throughout our stay.I was also disappointed with the cleanliness. When we entered the unit at 4:00 p.m., the floors were still wet. The vacuum was not charged, there was mold in the master shower and on the exhaust vent in the back bedroom, and several dishes were dirty upon arrival. In addition, our wristbands and parking passes were not in the unit upon arrival, requiring additional time to resolve. Finally, the unit above us was being remodeled during our stay. Beginning around 7:30 a.m. on several mornings, we were awakened by drilling and other construction noise that continued throughout the day. While I understand this was outside the owner’s control, it significantly affected our ability to relax and enjoy the condo.Overall, we were disappointed with this particular unit and would likely choose different accommodations for a future visit.
