"Our room was on ground floor with a hot tub. Facilities were good and the bed was very comfortable. Some elements were a little tired. Staff were outstanding and responsive to all requests and questions. Nice dining area and presentation. Great central location to Grasmere village. Our only issue is that parking can be a lottery - but staff were happy to help."

"We had a lovely 2 night stay lovely clean room with everything we needed. Andrew and Abigail are brilliant hosts nothing is too much they go above and beyond especially as I am Gluten free had two delicious GF breakfasts and my husband had the full cumberland breakfasts and one of Abigails lovely home baked muffins. We will definitely be returning next year. "

"We chose this hotel based on reviews, but we're very disappointed. We new this was not a 5-star hotel, but we'd expect it to be a lot better. Our first room was very bad, but among other problems the worst was the fact that it was dirty and the room smelled dirty feet. Even pillows smelled bad, so we asked to change room. The staff was really nice, extremely polite and helpful and problem was sorted fast, but we don't think we'll use this or any other Holiday Inn Express again. "
