Wonderful neighbourhood. Ideal location. Classic Parisien experience. Rental unit was not very well maintained. Host was apologetic and responded to complaints very quickly. Disappointing in that the unit could easily be elevated to a superior level with a modicum of effort.

Fabulous location … but NOT as pictured

The location is fabulous but the photos and description are misleading. Cleanliness or lack thereof was an issue. We cut our stay short and tried to find other accommodations as quickly as possible. The owner/mgmt company could counter that we stayed 2 nights but we arrived late and I woke up in daylight to see just how dirty the blanket was that I slept on … and I spent the next day trying to get out. Hence my 2 days. Buyer beware. Also the photo that they lead with is a local park … not the location of the unit.

Great Location, But There Were Issues

I strive to give 5-star reviews, or 4 at worst; so this one is unique in my two decades as a satisfied VRBO guest. On the plus side, the Marais is a vibrant, walkable, well-located neighborhood, and this property is right in the center. On the minus side, the property description did not mention that the unit is three flights up a treacherous stairway. We made it, with our long-trip luggage, but some might find it too hard. Second, the sleeping arrangements left much to be desired. There's a loft suitable only for young children, leaving us on a lumpy couch-bed in the main room. The description also mentioned a full and half bath, and a spa whirlpool. But there was only a single bath with shower. Maintenance was an issue. The unit was covered in white plaster dust, including on the couch-bed and in the dish cupboards. There was no toilet paper when we arrived. The window shade was broken. The worst part was the absence of hot water beyond a trickle. We brought this to the attention of the management company right away. But they were unsuccessful in correcting the problem during our stay, and we finally gave up and checked out a day early in order to take showers, etc. Management was ineffectual, uncommunicative, and has made no offer of compensation. We realize now that we should have notified VRBO customer support upon arrival for help finding an alternative property. Lesson learned!

Amazing Marais Neighborhood

This property is pretty much exactly as advertized. The location is amazing, we think the best in Paris! Shops and cafes abound! The unit was on the small side (as described and as are most Paris apts) and well kept up. But it really has some great amenities like a heated towel warmer and nice, modern kitchen. My wife, daughter and I all felt quite comfortable. Note that you will need to crawl on your knees to get to the bed on the second floor but that didnt really bother us at all. Our only real issue was a bit of low hot water pressure in the shower. There is no elevator up to the third floor, but the antique wooden stairs were cool to ascend. Overall great choice!

Amazing area to stay. Safe quite close to a lot

The location is excellent. In the heart of a historic area in Paris. Steps outside you will have shops and restaurants at your disposal. The area is very safe to walk at night with kids. The area is very quiet at night. The place would be best with small kids and parents since the upstairs has a low ceiling. Kitchen stocked if you wish to cook. For the price this is a steal

Great!!!

My best experience in Paris. I stayed only one night and wished I could have stayed longer! It was fantastic. The location couldn’t be better for all the sites I wanted to see. The apartment has lots of upgrades and fine touches. Loved it!

Very dissapointed

After traveling all day from New Hampshire, USA with two young children, we arrived to the flat at 3:10 (check in was at 3:00) only to find the cleaning lady there instructing us to come back in one hour. We had just dragged 4 suitcases up 4 flights of stairs and were not about to go anywhere. So, we sat in the hallway on the dirty floor on a 90' F day for an hour with two exhausted and hungry children. I tried calling the property manager who was rude to me, said it wasn't a big deal and actually ended up hanging up on me. The flat is MUCH smaller than it appears in the photos. My 6 and 7 year old children bumped their heads several times a day in the "loft" bedroom and injured themselves on the ladder going up. The "high end" pull out couch that my husband and I slept on had a bar going right through our backs and in the middle of the night we had to close it back up and put the mattress on the floor in order to get the little sleep we could. The bathroom shower didn't drain and had no more than a 1" lip, so our showers had to be about 30 seconds to 1 minutes before it started leaking out all over the bathorom floor. There were no trash bags to be found in the kitchen trash and we were only given 1 serving of coffee when our stay was 3 days. The only reason why I would give the 1 star is due to the location. It was a nice side street with lots of fun cafes and shops- but pretty much everything else was a HUGE let down. The biggest let down was the lack of communication with the property manager AND owner and their unwillingness to help make our stay more comfortable. I was actually in tears on the phone and they showed no concern or sympathy for our discomforts. I was going to let this go and just move on in life....but if I can spare even 1 more person the awful experience we had, then I feel this review was worth it!!

Excellent 4 night stay in the center of Le Marais!

We had an incredible 4 night stay in this apartment. Walk out the door directly into the best neighborhood in Paris! The apartment was exactly as described. Host was easy to contact and gave great check in instructions. Would highly recommend. Nothing bad to say.
