Ottawa’s Finest - Located Close to Downtown

SLEEPS 4 guests total! This stylish home has all you need and more for the perfect getaway! Our home is in a very central location close to downtown Ottawa where you will find lots of large restaurants and stores within a 5-minute drive (Starbucks, Walmart, Kroger, Blair's, etc.) We are located ~1.5 miles to I-80 and near The OSF Hospital in Ottawa.

The bedrooms both include memory foam mattresses for the best comfort during your stay. We have a full sized kitchen equipped with a Stove, Oven, Fridge, Microwave, Plates, Bowls, Cutlery, etc. Our living area features a Smart 4K TV with apps like Netflix, Hulu, Prime, YouTube and ESPN built in. The space is large and family- friendly.

*NEAR TRAIN TRACKS - Please do not book if you aren’t comfortable with the noise.

Smelled like gas upon entry, unfinished remodel, exposed wood, missing doors, no lock upon entry of complex. NOT SAFE. We didn’t stay and ended up driving all the way home. No follow up communication. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

There are no lights in the entryway or hallway so it’s really dark and hard to see, even in the middle of the day. There was a pile of hair on the edge of the bathtub, lip prints on a cup in the bathroom and stains on the sheets. We couldn’t find any cleaning supplies to clean the area either. Location and easy access to the parks was the best part of the place.

Place was nice and clean. Only complaint is not very disabled friendly. Customer cannot verify which floor the apartment is on without using the stairs. 2nd issue is the doorway is very poorly lit to enter code for access. I would use this apartment again.

Good location

Close to downtown Ottawa which made it very convenient for our weekend activities. The home is located next to a railroad track; there were a handful of trains that passed through while we were there but nothing too disruptive. Plenty of room in the apartment.

Location was great. Nicely renovated interior, but the photos need to be updated. Check-in process fine, we didn’t mind the train either. Issue lied in the image of the living room couch, it was only a futon and uncomfortable after a few hours, very small and not cushioned. Small altercation with VRBO double booking us. A new group had access to our room for a night. Was compensated but still felt unsafe at the time. Also- host didn’t respond to our initial message two days before our stay, only after the incident occurred. Do with this information what you will! Otherwise, great space.

Minimalistic

The furniture was nothing that was pictured. It said 5 could stay there, yet there was only enough silverware for 3 people. The furnishings were nothing at all as pictured in the listing. Location was okay and we didnt mind the train noise. We made due for 3 days, but the listing is totally incorrect and accommodations were uncomfortable.

Place for last minute trip

The concern we had was that this is is a split-level apartment building with stairs to all units. We have a geriatric dog who has a hard time with stairs. This is not clear in the listing. Other than that, they decorated it beautifully, but the living room furniture was not comfortable. There was a cheap futon with no arm rests and it was very hard. The only t.v. in the unit was hung so high on the wall it hurt my neck to watch a movie. As other reviews mentioned, they did not finish renovations, but that didn't affect our stay. The train is right there! Very loud horn every time. A 20 minute drive to state parks. We did like quick drive to restaurants. Bed was ok and shower was good. We had an issue when we got there, but received a partial refund, which we appreciated. The owner was very quick to respond to messages.

Okay for 1 night

The place is still in process of being renovated. There were many places where the trim was missing from closets. Parking and location was nice. Communication with the owner was good at first but the TV was NOT set up in any way. That was a bummer, as my sister and I planned on watching a movie after a long day of hiking. The Roku was not set up and we could not stream anything. No response from the owner. There were also muddy footprints in the shower when we checked in. They washed away, but I didn’t love that. Overall an okay place to crash for 1 night, but it wasn’t as nice as the photos would have you believe.

Clean, convenient, and simple

Just spent a weekend at this location in July. Apartment was cute and clean, bed was comfy, and the hostess was very easy to access if I had any questions. Would recommend.

Basic amenities only, but a good value for the price.

This is an inexpensive option for those who want to stay within 15 minutes of Starved Rock State Park. It was decorated tastefully but minimally. There were very few kitchen dishes but enough that we were able to cook. Things I wish I would have known: -Listing is an apartment, not a house. -It is very close to train tracks. The train never woke us up, but was loud during the day. -Only toilet paper and hand soap are provided in the bathroom (no shampoo, hair dryer, etc.). -No grill or area to put one. -Only 3 non-stick skillets to cook with as well as a few plates, glasses, utensils and silverware. A coffee maker with coffee pods and salt and pepper were the only other things in the kitchen. -There is very minimal living room furniture including a very small couch (small enough my husband and I couldn’t sit on it together), 2 small decorative chairs, 1 small side table and a TV on a stand. This was a clean, conveniently located apartment in a great location to several nice restaurants. While it lacked amenities, it was a great value, and we would stay here again if it was just the 2 of us.

Easy

It was not as clean. Shower could have been better, had a broken bar. Communication was good and kitchen needed more to be able to prepare meals. Otherwise good for price!
