"Sábalos Lodge is literally on the majestic río San Juan. If you want to experience the rain forest with limited modern amenities this is the place for you. The cabins are built on stilts and have no air conditioning but the cool breeze from the river is enough for a good comfortable night sleep. We saw a small caiman from our balcony as well as howler monkies. The staff (Ismael) is incredibly gracious. Good typical nicaraguan food as well as wine, beer and cocktails. Wonderful experience!"
