"Room was great with amazing views. Friendly and lovely staff.. Great location. Also, high compliments for the food we had there. We thought the main bedding could be better with a bit more blackout curtain/blinds as the ambient lights outside were on for a longer period at night - these are some feedback for the sake of it. Will be going back for sure. "

"Stayed in a pod with hot tub, great use of space and logs provided for the burner. Outside area could benefit from some small touches like solar fairy lights, dry seating cushions and maybe robes. Fabulous sleep, so tranquil, great breakfast, good selection and tasty , hot food. Swimming pool was out of use, no partial refund was offered. Overall a very pleasant stay."

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Oak. The room was basic, but clean and adequate. The bed was comfortable. We ate dinner there as well and it was delicious. The breakfast was good. My husband got the full English and I got scrambled eggs and bacon. The scrambled eggs seemed to be the rehydrated kind, but otherwise the meal was good. We would stay here again. "

"The staff were attentive to our needs. We ate there on the second night of our stay. They food was lovely and hot when served. We did not wait for too long from ordering to getting our food. There were limitations on what we could have both on the food and drink side due to delivery issues. My and I were are aware that there was music being played when we went to bed, but I did not really interfere with us getting to sleep. Eat plugs were provided which my wife used. "Shap Wells was an unexpected gem! The hotel was wonderfully decorated with stained glass and an “old world” feel. The room and hotel was clean and the food was excellent! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking space was generous and we certainly felt safe! Beautiful place to stay with an interesting history!"

"Car park was full in the evening so had to park in a lay-by nearby. The staff were helpful and the breakfast was good. We were in a top floor room with a very low ceiling that could do with some padding on the corners as it was a safety hazard."
