The location was perfect! The neighborhood is so charming. The space is nice and big. The property manager was responsive. The couch is a bit uncomfortable which made it tricky to spend much time relaxing in the living room…but there is so much to do in the neighborhood that we didn’t spend a lot of time there anyway. We loved our stay!

Location is excellent! Comfortable spot with the essentials. It was nice to have a kitchenette!

Easy walk to Central Park, Amsterdam, Broadway and Lincoln Center, Subway! Great accommodations if you are on the go and need safe and relatively quiet place to stay while surrounded by restaurants and everything you need. I would definitely stay again in this ideally located spot on the upper west side.

The apartment was perfect! Location perfect! It was the coldest week of the year and the lockbox was buried under a foot of snow and they had someone come dig it out and open it for us! 9/10 I hold back the 1 because the welcome instructions say the property manager will contact you 2-3 hours before check in. And that didn’t happen I had to walk 2 blocks with 2 suitcases and bags because they didn’t call and the address wasn’t correct. Really frustrating in 15 degrees but it all worked out

Nice space in a great location

Nice 2 bedroom apartment in a great location- a female co-worker and I were traveling for work and felt safe at the property. There were decent places to eat within walking distance. I wouldn't necessarily say this was a "luxury" apartment but it had everything we needed and the communication with the host/property manager was top notch!

Great location. Very clean. We used a parking garge near by. Great communication. They answered all my questions and quick responses. We just wish the place was bigger.

The place is disgusting. The renter doesn't communicate with you about anything. We waited in the cold of NYC for 3 hours for the key. The owner gave us the wrong code for the key fob. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE OWNER IS GARBAGE.

Great location

This property was in a fabulous location. Apartment was very clean and the host was responsive. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioners in the rooms were very appreciated. We would have loved an extra hand towel or dish towel for the kitchen. Unfortunately, we ended up with a plumbing problem on our last day so we were unable to use the bathroom sink or shower which put a slight damper on an otherwise wonderful experience.

I made the reservation to stay at this listing in November for my daughter’s graduation in May. I sent a message to the property early in the day to confirm a time and location to get the key, but no one responded. I got to the listing well ahead of my 4:00 check in. At 4:12 I called the host number to check the status of the check in since I haven’t heard from anyone. At 4:17 the property manager called me back to report that there was a problem with the boiler. He said they've been trying to repair it all day and I won’t be able to stay there. I’m a home owner and I know things happen. I didn’t appreciate the poor communication. It was after my check in time when they informed me that I wouldn’t be staying there even though they knew all day that it was a big problem. After a long day of traveling, it left me in a bind. I didn’t appreciate it and I thought it was disrespectful, unprofessional, and unreliable to leave someone hanging like that. When I was traveling and waiting to hear from them, I could’ve been looking for another place to stay that was suitable.

NYC trip

Pros- Great location. Was very friendly. Spacious considering NYC. Would go back to property. Cons- Didn’t get the check in information till day of, which was a little stressful. No mat in the bathroom to step out onto. The sheets were also a little dirty.

Having read past reviews citing difficulties communicating with the ‘host,’ I tried to be proactive. Throughout the day of arrival, I tried to communicate with the ‘host,’ and was ignored (both text and phone). Then, the property address we were sent to was wrong. So, standing in the pouring rain at 10:00 at night, an ‘agent’ calls to redirect us to another address, four blocks away. I had put in a call to VRBO for help and they, too, could not get a response from the property manager. Suddenly, right after I my call to VRBO, the property manager texted - a threatening, retaliatory text filled with falsehoods. So- there is no ‘host,’ just an indifferent real estate company, possibly operating an illegal rental according to what building residents told us, which the Mayor’s Office of Special Enforcement (NYC311) will sort out. The property is a grimy, battered dump (see photos). ‘Elegant?’ Peeling plaster, rust, grimy walls, broken window shades, exposed screws from broken shelves (I got a terrible cut), thread-bare towels, greasy stained rug… We spent the night and left in the morning, leaving thousands on the table and incurring the cost of a second rental elsewhere – an indicator of how awful and unsafe the unit and management were in our experience.

Great location and very clean

Literally located steps from just about everything you need and not far from places you want to see. This two bedroom, one bath apartment has been newly renovated and was very clean. It was on the smallish side but it is NYC after all. Check in/check out was very easy; host always responded quickly. One bedroom had full/queen bed with a good sized closet. The other bedroom had a full/twin bunk bed but no closet or clothing storage; one of my few suggestions would be to add hooks or a dresser. All beds were very comfortable. AC was cold. Good water pressure in shower. Could use a bath mat and hand towel in bathroom. Also, a hand towel in kitchen; and a second set of keys. But none of this hampered our long weekend stay. Would stay here again.

Honestly, worst experience I've ever had renting a property. Felt like I got scammed from the start. Arrived at JFK at 3. Still had no address from host. Was about 3:30 & I had to tell the taxi to head to the Upper West Side & I would give him address when I got it. When we finally got a response from "host," it was after 4 on day of check in. Got to address he gave me & it was a completely different property. Neither the host nor the property mgmt company bothered to mention that they changed our property ever. When I called & said "this is NOT the property I reserved," they acted oblivious at first and then said "There was a maintenance issue with the other property. You are lucky to get a property." While the replacement property was clean, it looked like it was a shelter or jail cell, not the cute apt I had reserved. Mismatching, very cheap linens on beds, old threadbare towels. They offered to cancel our reservation with a “full” refund. But since we got there late afternoon&had plans, we were stuck and ended up having to stay the first night. Checked out early the next day because the property was nothing close to what we had reserved. They were completely unapologetic & gaslit us telling us they had 4 other families that would jump at the place if we weren't satisfied. I read their reviews in cab ride and saw this bait/switch has happened before to others. So not the first time. Also, got refunded 4/5 days, they kept the ENTIRE host fee. Beware of this property.

The good: location, quiet building, well-lit unit, decent water pressure, air conditioners. The bad: extraordinarily poor value with subpar basic amenities (threadbare towels and sheets, no hand towel for bathroom, no dish towel for the kitchen, worn out and uncomfortable couch, stopped up tub/shower drain). Host communication was also very poor. Whoever manages the property never responded within a timely fashion via the VRBO app. Despite spending an extra 199 to check in at noon, instructions for finding the unit and getting the key didn’t come till 1130, and when we arrived at noon, the unit wasn’t ready. At least they let us leave our bags in a closet, but that’s a pretty expensive bag drop fee. To be fair to the host, NYC is a hostile environment to operate in, but in comparison to host interactions and amenities I’ve had across the country, this host is quite poor. If we’d had any real issues I have no confidence that there would be any response. I reached out to VRBO to get help with the check in process, and they couldn’t reach anyone either. If you’re staying in NYC, my recommendation is to spring for a real hotel room. It won’t be any more expensive and you’ll be guaranteed reasonable amenities and a front desk that will respond and hold your luggage until check in time.

The property manager we were put in touch with was lovely, and I appreciate her responsiveness. Otherwise, some aspects of the stay were not ideal. We were stopped by other residents of the building on a few occassions and told that the unit was not a legal short-term rental (I have no idea if that is true or not), but it made us feel very uncomfortable. The check-in process was also a bit sub-par; I had asked the host if I could have the address in the morning of check-in so that I could arrange a car service before our flight. I was then called on the flight instead (I obviously didn't get it), and it took a fair amount of back-and-forth before I got the information, which was stressful. When we arrived, we found exactly 2 bath towels and one floor towel (no other hand towels or kitchen towels) for our expensive 3-night stay with a family of 4. When I contacted the property manager, she dropped off more towels the next day, which I appreciated. On our second night there, the carbon monoxide detector went off in the middle of the night -- we couldn't tell if it was an actual alarm or a warning that the batteries were low; either way, it was frustrating to be woken and unsettling sleeping there with our children.
