"Spent one night at the Mendo Bungalows. The unassuming building sits up on a hill with a nice break in the trees to view the ocean. But stepping into the actual bungalow was a real treat. Looked like it had just recently been built/renovated. Plenty of space, lots of plugs for devices, modern TV with streaming, ample shower, super comfy bed. You should be aware that the town of Mendocino is actually across Hwy 1 on the west side of the highway. It’s probably not advisable to try and walk across...

"This location is unbeatable, and we loved having so much room to spread out after a week of cramped hotel rooms, not to mention laundry facilities! The kitchen is extremely large, clean and well-stocked. Despite coastal fog every day but our last, the ocean view is stunning and coffee or wine on your own ocean view porch was a daily treat. Don't skip walking the Headlands Path, which has spectacular views. It was great to quickly walk to a delicious dinner at McCallum House, fabulous breakfasts...

"I stayed here with a friend for a long weekend - we enjoyed ourselves immensely! Highlights were listening to the birds, the scent of the sweetgrass, a soak in the hot tub, and using this as a home base to explore the lovely coastal towns nearby. Jess left excellent and helpful instructions. We planned ahead for cooking on the induction burners/air fryer and the kitchen was pretty well appointed. We'd recommend a visit to Point Arena for two excellent bakeries - Franny's and Pelican Bread. Also...

"I play a game that if I can see whales or dolphins from inside a house, I win. Shalimere wins. Gorgeous views from the house, deck, and hot tub. Access to a beautiful private beach. The house and space is fantastic. The kitchen has all the tools you need - I always take a range of kitchen utensils and items to VRBOs, Shalimere had it all. The bedrooms and bathrooms are lovely. The hosts, Michelle and Dave, are so communicative and helpful. We loved it so much, we are coming back next summer! "

"The cottage was an absolute gem. The bed was hard to leave each morning, absolutely comfortable. The hot tub was the perfect temperature the entire weekend. The beach was a minutes drive, as well as the town of Mendocino. We were able to drink our tea in a tiny building overlooking Big River. We will definitely be back:) "

"What a wonderful spot up on the Mendocino coast. Great communication. All the amenities set up for everything you'll need. Views so good that you might cancel some of your area plans. We enjoyed making food in the great kitchen, and relaxing outside while the deer and foxes went about their daily activities. We can't wait to make it back up for another visit. Thanks again!"

The house was well stocked and very comfortable for seven adults and a baby, and the location is secluded enough to be quiet and private but still 25 minutes from a grocery store. There's a great selection of board games and puzzles and a nice big dining room table to gather around too! "

"We had a great time at the studio for our "mini-moon" after our wedding. Very relaxing and the perfect location. We had some problems with the internet, but the local contact was extremely responsive and helpful. We were given a small refund for our trouble with the internet, which we appreciated. "We had a great visit at this home. The views are amazing, the home was clean, tastefully furnished and, for those who plan to cook, had a nice set of quality pots/pans and utensils. Irish beach is within walking distance and nice restaurants in Point Arena are just 20 minutes away. Amit, the property manager, was very responsive answering my questions prior to our visit. We're looking forward to our next visit!"

"We had a great stay and would stay again! The location is amazing, the house was just as great with a few quirks (definitely not deal breakers for us). The claw tub was a bit of a challenge to fill (use the shower head), the wooden bed frame way too squeaky for two people rolling over (had my son sleep in there), slider door in the tv room doesn’t lock that well. None of this affected our trip and it was wonderful, the grounds are beautiful and the bluff was not a concern for us and our kids...
