"I cant rave enough about the location. If you are a biology nerd you are going to love this place. Ive never seen so many butterflies and we caught catfish off of the dock. Also if you are a fossil hunter there are some great sites within driving distance. This is the first rental property my friends and I have visited twice."

"I stayed at the Blue Heron with my 2 kids (2 and 10) and my large dog. The fenced in large yard was absolutely wonderful to have everyone outside when at the house. I loved the lot - so much space on 3 of the sides without being right on top of another house! The bay view off the side of the house really topped it off! The house was incredibly clean inside. As an unexpected surprise, there’s an auto ice maker in the freezer, saving me from having to make a trip to a store with the kids for...

"Absolutely charming updated cottage in the heart of Colonial Beach. Spotless, with a screen porch, back patio, and walking distance to river and downtown Colonial Beach. Co-host Kim was welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend! "

"Well appointed cottage in central location close beach and bay. Many extras not found in other rentals. Owner did a beautiful job decorating, and it was one of the cleanest rentals I've ever stayed at. "

"Absolutely the grossest property I've been too. 5 spiders, 1 centipede, 1 dead cockroach. Master bedroom and bathroom both had see through curtains so people could look through. Hair in the sink and wads of hair stuck to the bathroom hinge. Window AC units had gaps in them so bugs could come in without hindrance. Leaves in the ac ducts(how). Couldn’t even cut the grass for before guest arrive. We didn't even stay there. "

"The cottage is an older structure that has been impeccably renovated. It had everything we needed for a week's stay. Colonial Beach is not a glamorous ocean holiday destination. It is a rural community with a basic infrastructure on the Potomac River."
