A pretty decent place to stay.
I feel like reviews have been hit or miss for this place so I wanted to leave a detailed one. The place is a great size and had plenty of space for everyone to stay. There’s actually 7 bedrooms if you count the bunkroom, which doesn’t have a door to but is great for kids to sleep. There’s 3 rooms with double beds, 3 rooms with kings, and then the bunk room with 6 twins between all the bunks. The interior of the house was very clean and had a well stocked kitchen with plenty of kitchen utensils and plates. We also really enjoyed the sun room. The basement level had a lot of little flies, but it’s Virginia in the summer and maybe that can’t be avoided. The location was great. Ideal for 4th of because of all the fireworks. The outside area was a little worse for wear. The patio furniture and deck were pretty dirty as well as some loose bricks in the front. The bbq is definitely dirty. I wouldn’t use it. But we brought our own flat top. We enjoyed the chairs down on the dock. But the fire pit and areas around it were pretty dirty. There is a water mat and some water toys in the shed down by the dock that work great after a little cleaning up. They don’t provide beach towels, so make sure you bring some. Great communication from the host. The sink wasn’t working great and she sent someone over the next day to fix it. Check in was easy. Lots of parking. Overall being on the less expensive end of large houses it was a good place to stay. Just needs some cleaning up outside.
