"The location is awesome. Shepler’s ferry and downtown Mackinaw are less than a mile walk from the hotel, and it’s an easy walk. The state park lake shore and fort are a five minute walk. The hotel is clean, breakfast was awesome (eggs, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and other items). Our room was a king with couch, very spacious. "This is and extraordinary property with so much to do. The staff is amazing and very attentive. The rooms are gorgeous and the grounds are immaculate, we can't wait to go back next year and stay on the island and at Stonecliffe. It was fun for the entire family and worth every penny. "

While there is a free shuttle available to take you to one of the ferry docks, it is a quick 10 minute walk, so we walked there and back. There a few dining options and an ice cream shop nearby within walking distance as well, although most seem to close early in the evenings. The hotel is a collection of 4 hotel buildings (all named after the great lakes) and the Reception/pool building....
