Wild Rose Cabin Off-Grid & Unapologetically Rustic
Glamping = glamour + camping, and we take both seriously. Wild Rose Cabin sits on 160 wooded acres above the Shuswap River ~ no wifi, no neighbours, just birdsong and a king bed built for mischief. Add a private wood-fired sauna for extra glow. Off-grid but not roughing it: clean drinking water, linens, and stocked outhouse all provided. Pet-friendly, propane-powered. 14km of trails to work off the car ride. 25 min to Salmon Arm/Enderby, 10 min to Larch Hills Nordic trails.
If "chop wood, carry water" sounds more like therapy than work, If you're looking to unplug, reconnect, and trade notifications for birdsong, welcome to Wild Rose.
This is a true off-grid log cabin tucked into the forest near Salmon Arm, no electricity, no running water, no wifi pretending to be "digital detox." Just you, the woods, and a very good king-size bed in the loft (plus a double futon downstairs, sleeping up to four). Couples tend to fall hard for this one, cozy, quiet, and built for snuggling up under a fluffy duvet while the wood-burning fireplace does its thing.
The Basics, Handled
Propane runs the show here: a full stove and oven in the kitchen (yes, you can bake that cake), a French press for your morning coffee, and pots, pans, and dishes ready to go. Bring your groceries, your coffee, your cooking oil, salt and pepper's on us.
Out on the screened porch, a propane BBQ and mini fridge/freezer keep things simple (in winter, we swap to coolers when Mother Nature does the refrigerating for us).
Roughing It, Comfortably
Showering here is part 1980's camp trip, part spa day, fill the bag, hang it up, and enjoy a warm outdoor rinse under the trees.
The outhouse is a short stroll away (headlamp recommended for the 2am trips).
Firewood for your fireplace is included; campfire wood is $20/bundle if you didn't bring your own.
Heads up: if bugs, dirt, or a lack of flush toilets make you nervous, this might not be your cabin and that's okay, we don't take it personally.
Wander Off
14 km of private, signed trails wind through 160 acres — download the free Avenza app for offline trail exploration, so you don't get lost in the woods. You likely won't see another soul out there, unless it's one of our other guests (each cabin sits 5–10 minutes apart, so privacy's built in).
For an extra $30, book your own private wood-fired sauna, firewood and robes included.
