For context - This may be my first review I have ever written for anything, ever - so I’m definitely not one for complaining on websites.
Also, If you connect all the reviews together - some bad, some ok, even the decent ones, you will notice one common theme, they all indicate the experience could be better or they thought it would include more. Let me connect some dots DIRECTLY for you in advance AND highlight why I think this happens.
Issues upon arrival:
- The humidity was extremely heavy and the musty stench hit us like a ton of bricks when we walked in. Im a past owner of 6 rental proprieties (to be clear -Long term, not vacation) and can tell you from experience when you actually clean and prep a property , this should never happen! .
- fridge was dirty inside and out. My wife spent 15+ min polishing it, bragging about making the place better
- the leaves, dust, dirt and spider webs hit you in the face when walking out the back doors (both sets) onto and around the back porch. Not joke, I spent 20+ minutes cleaning them. May have been 30 minutes.
- kitchen and upstairs Lights Didn’t work upon arrival - with everything else that happened, this was more frustrating at the time then it should have been and still telling - Management did fix this right away
- one really odd thing worth noting - and it’s in other reviews, there is a weird, kinda creepy, laundry factory you drive next to in the woods as you navigate back. In a vacuum it wasn’t a deal Breaker, but definitely makes you 2nd guess things/question a next visit before you even arrive. And it’s not a highlight in any photos, hmmm.
Day 2
- we opened the dishwasher to a horrendous smell! it was holding old water.
- we suggested candles and a humidifier To management because of continued smell and humidity!
We still had some smell on day three and had enough We were contemplating leaving (should have already, honestly). I found out the owners name and dropped it to the property manager. Next thing you know his son/nephew/whoever shows up defensive and mind made up. I was thinking he was there for the dishwasher (at first). With the front door open and not even a couple minutes in, without me being able to explain all he says “I don’t smell anything!” no apologies, no sympathy, no empathy, etc... the CYA stage was set. No dishwasher. No consideration. And the list/conversation goes on with other telling insights but I’m about out of words.
