"Our room was newly-renovated with a lovely, large bathroom. Our hosts were friendly and helpful and the pub was excellent. Would definitely stay again!"

"You need sharp eyesight to see the hotel as it's right on the roundabout. It was perfectly placed for where we needed to be the next day. Parking was not a problem. The room was an odd shape and in need of new carpet. The doors are fire doors and they really did Bang shut every time someone came in our out of the coach house. "Situated in a lovely area of the Sussex Downs this small country pub provided ideal accommodation for our visit to Glyndbourne. Clean, simple but well appointed accommodation, with a good breakfast provided in the morning. Long Man Best Ale in cask available at the bar, which was a treat."

"There actually was not a breakfast. However, the hotel includes a charming pub where we enjoyed an excellent pub lunch. As a whole we very much enjoyed the White Horse Inn. Our room seemed a little small and we shared a bathroom. We did find a restaurant within a short walking distance where we enjoyed breakfast. "

Would have liked more power sockets to charge phones etc but overall good accommodation, suitable tea and coffee making and complementary biscuits. "We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chestnut Tree. Lisa, the host was the main reason, she is a great communicator which is important when booking. She was so very helpful with local information and incredibly kind. Our room was beautiful and the amenities in the bathroom delightful. The area is beautiful but with only one night, we didn’t get the change to do much exploring. Next time. Thank you Lisa for a wonderful stay."

"I was supposed to get book in details by WhatsApp before 3pm Friday they didn't come. Eventually someone appeared at 3.15 in the lobby if you could call it that. A window in the inside front door had been broken and was never replaced. Got to the room it was supposed to be a double. Fair enough it had double bed and just enough room to walk around it. The bathroom stunk on stale water. Would I stay here again? NO "

"Too many notes telling you not to scratch things. It was nothing like as described on website. Spoon holding the window fastener, other windows held together with duck tape. . Felt damp in there so needed heat. Bedding wasn’t Egyptian cotton, bottom sheet was pea green. Tap just dribbled water out of wash basin. Lane and track down to property was terrible, full of holes. We didn’t stay for breakfast or to sleep there."

The windows do not shut properly, single glazing, so you could hear the crackheads arguing on the green opposite. Very narrow staircase, which was a struggle with large suitcases and no lift.
