We used this modern house as a base from which to travel to Mt. Cook (one hour drive away), explore Ahuriri River and hike up Mt. John. Added bonus: brilliant moon rise one night, seeing 4 moons of Jupiter through binoculars at Lake Tekapo another night, watching Paradise shelducks and scaups in nearby pond."

The house was very difficult to find in the dark with small numbers we only found the next morning. The common area was oversized (could hold 20 people easily) compared to the bedrooms, whicheach barely fit a bed. The beds were comfortable, but the house did not feel warm or welcoming. Lake Tekapo seems to be getting overly touristy and has lost its quant feel. This house fits the new...

"We absolutely loved this little house! We could see Lake Tekapo from the front porch and we grilled out and had dinner outside there one night. The place is super comfy clean and perfectly appointed with everything you need for a relaxing vacation. A short walk or drive into town brought you to shops a grocery and restaurants. The location was great and quiet and safe. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!"
