"We liked the space that the apartment had and the location of the property. The apartment was very quiet and had all the amenities we needed including the kitchen area. We also liked the garden at the back of the property. We will book again when we come back to Ulverston."

"We chose this hotel based on reviews, but we're very disappointed. We new this was not a 5-star hotel, but we'd expect it to be a lot better. Our first room was very bad, but among other problems the worst was the fact that it was dirty and the room smelled dirty feet. Even pillows smelled bad, so we asked to change room. The staff was really nice, extremely polite and helpful and problem was sorted fast, but we don't think we'll use this or any other Holiday Inn Express again. "

"Recently refurbished to good standard. Only thing is I would liked to have had a drawer or two for my smalls. The room was spacious enough. Nice breakfast area. Private parking for about a dozen cars or so. Across the road from the Town Hall, a lovely building Bus stops very nearby A refundable charge is made to ones card in arrival, which is refunded after a couple of days."

"Staff were helpful and friendly. Parking was easy. The room was really clean and the decor was quirky and bright. It's a lively night spot (for a little town) so it wasn't the quietest place to sleep, but good value for money."

"Quaint old Inn. Badly let down by standards of cleanliness & maintenance. Dangerous broken toilet seat in bathroom. Also more disturbingly a used disposable razor from a previous guest in the same bathroom. The bedroom carpet was filthy, it even had plastic tags from clothes on the floor. Obviously had not been cleaned properly in weeks/months. Luckily another guest was a no show so we moved room. "Cannot say as i did not stay due to the manager trowing me out for letting my partner use the toilet the got me charged with drink driving for trying to sleep in my car as did not have anywhere else to go"

"I admittedly arrived at a busy time and The Bear was reportedly chronically short of staff. Whilst the room and its cleanliness was excellent, the human side was somewhat chaotic. I queued twice for approx. 15 mins in total only to be told, in regard to ordering food, that the chef was very busy and not feeling well.
