"The location and apartment were great! Unfortunately the beds were the most uncomfortable beds we have ever slept in - so lumpy and uneven we couldn't sleep for the 2 nights we were there. The sofa bed mattress was so thin you could feel the metal frame all night. The mattresses all need replacing!"

"We chose this hotel based on reviews, but we're very disappointed. We new this was not a 5-star hotel, but we'd expect it to be a lot better. Our first room was very bad, but among other problems the worst was the fact that it was dirty and the room smelled dirty feet. Even pillows smelled bad, so we asked to change room. The staff was really nice, extremely polite and helpful and problem was sorted fast, but we don't think we'll use this or any other Holiday Inn Express again. "

We arrived to a warm welcome, and the most amazing and relaxing room. The bed was soooo comfortable along with a spacious bathroom. "Quaint old Inn. Badly let down by standards of cleanliness & maintenance. Dangerous broken toilet seat in bathroom. Also more disturbingly a used disposable razor from a previous guest in the same bathroom. The bedroom carpet was filthy, it even had plastic tags from clothes on the floor. Obviously had not been cleaned properly in weeks/months. Luckily another guest was a no show so we moved room. "Great location for our birthday event in Cartmel. The chauffeur service was excellent and we utilised that every evening. Welcome from Francesca was warm and friendly but professional at all times. Good breakfast too. Room was warm despite inclement weather."

"We were allocated a large room on the 3rd floor. There is no lift. We requested a lower floor the room was mor like a bedsit .clean and quiet. .The front of the building is covered in scaffding. If we were in the rooms with hottubs etc different experience.Staff minimal buit helpful.restuarant has always been good."

"Very good communication. In general the apartment building is clean and nice, though inside the apartment smelled strong curry ( Penthouse ), even a cheap air freshener will make a difference. Pillow cases and Bed blankets do not smell fresh. No shampoo and shower gel. Netflix is a plus. We still enjoyed our stay."

"A lovely clean and easily accessed hotel. The room had everything I required, a nice comfy bed, tea, coffee and biscuits along with a desk and chair.The bathroom is well spaced out with a wonderful powerful shower . "Recently refurbished to good standard. Only thing is I would liked to have had a drawer or two for my smalls. The room was spacious enough. Nice breakfast area. Private parking for about a dozen cars or so. Across the road from the Town Hall, a lovely building Bus stops very nearby A refundable charge is made to ones card in arrival, which is refunded after a couple of days."
