Poipu Makai B-1 is beautifully furnished with Hawaiian decor and local art. You'll enjoy indoor-outdoor living here on your lanai and lawn with views of spectacular sunsets, humpback whales off shore (in season), and sea turtles and dolphins. This scenic vista includes the entire Poipu coastline all the way to Spouting Horn and beyond to the Island of Niihau.

Poipu Makai B-1 is located within a short walk to Poipu Beach Park, Brennecke's Beach and Shipwreck Beach.

Poipu Makai is well situated to take advantage of all the south shore activities such as golf, tennis, horseback riding and many beaches within a short distance. There are two golf courses nearby, Kiahuna Golf Course and Poipu Bay Resort Golf Course. Both were designed designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. and Poipu Bay Resort Golf Course is the former site of the PGA Grand Slam of Golf Championship.

Poipu features many fine restaurants, several within walking distance of the condo, and lots of shopping for gifts and souvenirs at Poipu Shopping Villages, Kukui'ula Village and in nearby Old Koloa Town.

4:30 am while still sleeping, we experienced terrible high-pitched humming noises when the sprinkler system ran. Also one bedroom had a noisy mini-split ac.

It’s All About the View

We enjoyed watching the whales and beautiful assortment of birds right from the lanai. The beds were very comfortable. A for that! However, the property is quite dated and there is nothing luxurious about it. The primary bedroom does have a commode and shower, but the shower stillIs TINY! The unit is very nicely appointed with beach chairs, etc. All in all, we would stay again just for the view. Also, the pool is very small - truly just for dipping - but peaceful.

Absolutely Gorgeous location

Condo is older, but very well taken care of and so pretty! Every room had a welcoming aloha spirit and basic needs were available to use. We were very respectful of the owner's goods. We washed dishes and washed most towels. Extremely grateful!

Nice Property - A lot of ants though

The communication and booking were easy. The property itself was nice, but could use a thorough deep cleaning. There were ants everywhere: kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms. We couldn't leave anything on the counters without it getting attacked by ants. The floors were cleaned with a very slick cleaner, and felt very oily/ greasy. Other than those minor issues, the view was beautiful, the mattresses/ pillows were great, and the kitchen was very well stocked. My family very much enjoyed our stay.

The property smell bad, furniture are out of date, beds are in very bad condition my mom and sister got a back pain because of those beds, We did not like this property at all. We have been in this Island before and this is the worst property We have ever been to.

Location, Location, Location

This property is so well located. On the water, beautiful views, beach walking in either direction in minutes, local shops, fun restaurants.... It is also fairly quiet, except for the crashing of the surf. A great place to stay if you want to explore Kauai, after you soak in the morning quiet and ocean view from the lanai.

Amazing location and view but read the entire review

This is an amazing condo with million dollar view and location. Whales and turtles everyday to great us and we would stay again. The only issue was how dirty the place was, including dirty sheets, kitchen and dirty underwear with pad in the main bedroom. We washed the sheets grabbed cleaning supplies at Walmart and took care of iit and it was amazing after that. Management was responsive and offered to refund some but then we never heard back from them and no refund for cleaning. Even after all of that we would not hesitate to stay again and again!! This place is amazing.

Turtles out front every day.

We loved this property. There were turtles swimming right in front everyday. Easy to walk down to the beach. Gorgeous sunsets. Dolphins swam by very close every day. Just a special spot. One thing....the bedding sheets could use an upgrade. More pillows too.

Beautiful view and excellent location to the best beach!

We enjoyed our stay at the condo. The view is absolutely amazing, with marine life just a matter of feet away. It does get hot during the evenings, and could benefit airflow with the addition of two fans.

Kuaia condo paradise

The view was fabulous. The ocean sound was soothing. We saw dolphins from our patio. The unit was very clean and we loved staying there. The only negative was the parking. It was difficult to back out of the narrow spaces with cement pillars near the car.

The view is spectacular!

This is an older condo. It sits right on a cliff above the ocean with amazing views. You can walk right out and look down and see turtles swimming! The unit itself could use some updating. Furniture is old and uncomfortable. AC would be helpful although we were ok with the various fans. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

Best sunsets ever!

Wonderful ocean front setting. Could have used an A/C unit, rather than fans for better sleep. Great coastal walk starting next door to unit. Saw whales, sea turtles, monk seals along the way.

Beautiful view!

The view from the lanai was everything!!! The location was great, we were within waking distance of two beaches, and a short driving distance to many stores and restaurants. We were quite happy with the condo and how well it was stocked. We did many meals at home, and had everything we needed! You truly can't beat the view. Waking up to the ocean every day, was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this property to others.

The location is wonderful! The condo is nicely furnished. The sunsets are unbeatable!! The property was clean but it’s dated and could use some updating. The locks on the doors did not feel strong and secure. Poipu is a great location on the island!

Nice condo with wonderful view

We spent 6 nights here and enjoyed the beautiful view. The beds were very comfortable & the condo is well equipped with updated appliances. However, it was difficult to find the unit, parking is a challenge due to concrete pillars and poor lighting. The rooms are hot and you will need all the fans available. Be ready to share with the cockroaches (you are in the tropics). Our upstairs neighbors were very loud. Some upkeep is needed, laundry doors off track, no bathroom exhaust fans. It is a short walk to the beach and a short drive to town. All in all, an enjoyable stay but would probably not return.
