The location was perfect for our visit as we were attending a concert at Beşiktaş Stadium. The hotel is just a short walk from Taksim Square and sits in the shadow of the impressive Taksim Mosque, making it an excellent base for exploring the city.
The charming little street comes alive in the evening with a lively and welcoming atmosphere. We enjoyed a few beers outside and loved being able to pop back to the room whenever we needed to. It felt very much like being part of the local neighbourhood rather than staying in a tourist area.
Our room was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and had a surprisingly large fridge. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and everything was thoughtfully arranged to make our stay easy and enjoyable.
The gentleman on reception was particularly kind and welcoming. Reception is a simple desk at the foot of the stairs leading to the rooms, which perfectly reflects the property's straightforward and honest approach. The following morning he kindly offered us glasses of çay as we stepped out onto a freshly washed street that was peaceful and quiet after the previous evening's buzz.
This is a property that does exactly what it promises. It offers clean, comfortable and well-appointed rooms in an excellent location without pretending to be anything else. Noiseless air con was a real plus. We were extremely pleased with our stay and would happily choose it again when returning to Istanbul for a short city break.
