You will love The Lochen House because of location and Yes we are pet friendly! We are close to numerous activities and great restaurants, located on 16 acre Private Lake with a boat for you to use, right off of US 31, just 1/2 mile from the traffic light in Interlochen. We have a dock with a small boat for you to use along with a Screened in Gazebo down by the lake. Inside Gas Fired Fire Place

3 miles to the Blue Bridge Event Center

The things people love about The Lochen House.

#1 Location, located right off of US 31 easy on and off highway, 5 minutes to the World renowned Interlochen Arts Academy, 14 miles to Traverse City, 26 miles to the Sleeping Bears Dunes National Park, 17 miles to Crystal Mountain, 3 miles to the Blue Bridge Events Center, 1/2 mile to Interlochen Golf course, 30 miles to The Homestead. And is located just 1/2 mile from the traffic light in Interlochen.

#2 Located on a privately owned lake, with a row boat for your use!

#3 A Gazebo with screens down by the lake to hang out at.

#4 The unit is Air conditioned for those warm summer days.

#5 The deck is great since it allows you to enjoy the best days of summer outside and grill to your heart's delight with the GRILL found there!

Here are 3 things to consider before renting.

#1 No Parties are permitted in our house or property at all times during your stay.

#2 Our house is nice but its not perfect for all people, even though we have put lots of effort into this place there are always small what seem like trivial issues to most that really upset others such as, there is no bathtub we have a stand up shower, there is no dishwasher, located right off of US 31, potenial for road noise, one step up to enter property.

#3 We ask all our guests to respect the neighbors and to not be loud or yell or play loud music inside and outside the building at all times during their stay. We expect our Guests to be quiet after 11:00PM. So if you intend to behave like a party animal, our place is not for you but if you intend to behave like a resident, you should love your stay.
Now that this is clear, let's get to the description of the place!

The Lochen House is located in Interlochen right off US 31 on Lost Lake a 16 acre lake, the center point of activities in the Traverse region. We can accommodate 6 GUESTS.

The Lochen House features a kitchen that is fully equipped with all the essentials such as microwave, pots & pans, coffee maker,toaster, blender, slow cooker and your basic kitchen items to cook a nice meal.
This is a 2 bedroom unit with a queen size bed's, the living room has a queen size sleeper sofa, 50ā€ Smart TV, Netflix, also has Ultra fast 5G WIFI . The bathroom has a stand up shower, hair dryer, iron & board and a washer & dryer to take care of your laundry needs.
This house has a private deck and also has a patio table / chairs & outside grill so that you can truly enjoy those long summer days.

Great place!

The house was very clean. The sauna and hot tub were great, the dome is cool! Literally hanging out in the swamp/pomd! The hosts have made great use of every inch of this space, a cool find.

The listing does not do the property justice. Had an incredible time. The lake and dock area are beautiful. The smokeless fire ring and hot tub were great for unwinding. Close to everything you need. Will be back!

Much needed vacation

My fiancĆ© and I havenā€™t been on a vacation in over a year because I broke my wrist and ankle last May so there went last year. When he asked me what I wanted to do, I said I just want to relax. I told him what I would like, and everything that I wanted was part of the amenities. It was perfect. It was everything that I wanted it to be. We were even able to take both of our German Shepherds and they loved it as well. My fiancĆ© was able to fish and caught some and decompress too. Check in instructions were easy and perfect. Great host and great property. We will definitely stay there again if we get up that way again and itā€™s available.

Great Visit

One of the best VRBOs my family has stayed at. Comfortable beds, good shower, very nice clean hot tub and the igloo was a very cool feature. Experienced weather from 82 to 38 during our weekend and were able to stay both cool and warm and comfortable. Nice private drive. Excellent fishing and the manager came to pump out the boat when it rained without me even having to ask. Enjoyed the sack toss left for us and a nice fire. Nice yard for my dog as well. Great stay!

Quaint little cabin

We had the most amazing stay at this cozy little cabin in the woods! From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at peace. The cabin was exactly what we were hoping for: clean, well-equipped, and full of charm.The hot tub was a huge highlight. Even though we had a lot of snowfall before our arrival, we were able to easily step out the sliding door right to the hot tub. The small gazebo down down on the dock by the lake was very charming and the perfect place to watch the sunset. Temperatures were quite cold, but there are heaters, blankets and comfy seating.The location was perfect. So close to Traverse City and all it has to offer.The host was super responsive when we had questions.If you're looking for a quiet retreat to relax and recharge, this is it. Highly recommend!

Perfect location for a peaceful weekend

We celebrated a 50th birthday at this perfect property that met our need for relaxation yet close to activities and dining. The Lochen House provided everything needed and then some with a hot tub, fireplace and the coolest igloo over the water. Thank you for being a fabulous host, Jeff!

My family(4 adults) stayed at the property recently to celebrate a birthday up north. Jeff quick to answer any questions I had and check in/out was easy. The property did not disappoint. Christmas

We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas night here. It was absolutely amazing. We truly felt like we were in the north pole. We have lots of snow. We sat out in the dome at night. It was quite cozy to have our cocktails out there. We stayed very warm with the space heater. I also ventured for a nice little walk with my two German shepherds. They loved it. The hot tub was was also a bonus. This little place truly made our Christmas perfect. I definitely would recommend this place. Anytime of the year was very private as well.

Perfect for our needs

We stayed here to attend the Interlochen Academy alumni weekend. This place is very convenient and beautifully situated. Had we needed to stay longer, there were many amenities that we would have enjoyed. We would definitely stay here another time.

Peaceful retreat with modern amenities

We loved our stay at the Lochen House! This was a great location for us to visit our adult children working at Interlochen. Everything was clean and there was a hot tub, 3 outdoor seating areas and best of all a peaceful lake with a dock and rowboat.

Great location close to Interlochen's concert venue

We booked this cottage because of it's proximity to the theater at Interlochen. It was perfect, about 10 minutes away. The cottage itself was one of the cleanest rentals we have been to. Nice view of the water from the kitchen and back patio. I was a little worried about the noise from US31, but inside you couldn't hear it at all. We slept great! I would definitely stay again.

Vacation stay

We enjoyed our stay at the property. The description was accurate, it was clean and the contact with property MGR was easy and efficient. Property is close to the road and and a business which is the only negative. It was perfect for what we needed, a home base so that did not bother us at all. We visited Sleeping Bear and TC and both were easy drives. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would rent again.

A Hidden Getaway 4 hours from Home

As a first-time visitor to Interlochen the property is an easy 20-minute drive from Traverse City and 4 hours from home. The house was clean and had everything we needed and my favorite part was the kitchen island which was convenient and large enough for our kitchen stuff and family meals. It has an overhang so you can sit at the counter with the bar chairs. The beds were comfortable as was having air conditioning. By far the favorite part was the outside jacuzzi/hot tub! We didn't get a chance to hit the beach since it rained a few days and that hot tub was always available and ready to use. Behind the house is a dedicated fire pit and we enjoyed making smores. Beyond the wooded area is a path to the little lake where we had access to a little boat with paddles for some fishing. For a 4-day trip the Lochen House served our needs and would recommend this location. There is a grocery store a few minutes away. It was nice meeting you Jeff!
