"We stayed here for 1 night on our UP road trip but wished we would have stayed more! The cabin was super cute and clean and had plenty of space for our family of 5! The kids loved the kayaks and playing in the water. We enjoyed the fire pit that night. The convenience store on the island was great and has a lot of what we needed. We would definitely love to come back and stay longer next time."

"My partner, dog and I came to sugar island to experience a new place in the UP and we will certainly be returning to Sweet Retreat!! Sheri and Jeff were the most accommodating of hosts and truly go above and beyond to ensure everyone’s comfort and fun. We used the bikes on the property and were lucky enough to take a pontoon cruise with the hosts our last night. The cabin was absolutely adorable and had everything we needed. I couldn’t recommend staying here enough! We can’t wait to come back!"

"Very easy to ask questions as the host is always nearby! Also a beautiful location in a charming little rustic cabin! It was nice to unplug and get a little sunburnt. "

"Wow! We were absolutely amazed by the wonderful hospitality of these hosts! They made sure we had everything we needed and provide such a peaceful and gorgeous setting on Sugar Island. The house was perfect for our large family and everyone was very comfortable. The small store on site has ice cream, cold drinks and unique treasures. "

"Shari was a great host that added in some unexpected perks. We had a great ladies outing and will be telling people about this place for a long time."

"We stayed for a week with our three kids (11, 15, 17) and had an AMAZING time! Found plenty to do within 60 minutes, and also enjoyed 3/4 days just hanging at the house. The beach was better than we imagined, watching the freighters was a family affair, the ferry was a breeze and evening fires on the sandy beach was a favorite. We also saw the aforementioned red fox on several occasions, which was cool. We brought our kayaks and loved taking them out. Would love to plan a return trip!"

"Property was a ways from town and had to take a ferry to get there, but my fault for not reading description carefully. Cabin was exceptionally clean and very well stocked towels, bedding, cooking accessories. Owner responded in a timely manner."

"What a great place to vacation! Beautiful and rustic. The cabin is cozy and Jordan supplied so many lovely touches to make it even better. Great spot to relax and enjoy stunning views. The bed was super comfortable and the shower is amazing. The kitchen was well supplied, and we easily made meals there. We will be back, hopefully, soon!"

"Could not ask for a more beautiful or well maintained home. Absolutely perfect for our laid back Bachelorette party. We spent most our weekend soaking up the sun on the lake in the kayaks and rock hunting on the beach. Truly a breathtaking house that shows so much time that must have gone in to its creation. Will be booking again! "

"This is a beautiful place to stay. It's so calm and peaceful. It was the perfect size for my husband and I. We spent a lot of time on the porch looking over the lake. Cabin was clean and the kitchen was stocked nicely with cook gear and spices. Located close to grocery store, Dollar general and gas station. If you don't want to cook the pizza patch was really good too. Thank you for the stay."

"Everything was as described. Freighters were frequent and fun to watch (down load Marine Traffic app.) Town was close and plenty of choices to eat. Great time was had."

"We had a wonderful stay at the Rustic Moose! The host was fantastic with communicating and you could tell a lot of care went into making this a home away from home. We can’t wait to come back again in warmer months! "

"We had such a lovely stay! When I say this is the cleanest and most well kept homes I’ve ever stayed in, it’s not an exaggeration. And I’ve stayed at a lot of vrbo homes. The bit tub was so nice, the basement for the kids was amazing. The kitchen had everything you could ever need and the blackstone was used daily on our stay with easy clean up. The bedrooms fit us perfectly and my six kids loved the room with the twins beds. The hosts were kind and easy to get a hold of. We were walking...

"I haven't stayed in a lot of house rentals before, but this is the best one I have stayed in. Nothing was different than I thought it would be from the photos. And nothing was wonky, like furniture or moldy bathtub tile. I loved this place. It was spacious, homey, and well kept."

"Once inside this property shines. Giving plenty of space for a family of four or even more, with pull out couch. The home was well spread out and the second sitting room was a great little area. Kitchen was stocked with everything you could need and even grill came with extra propane tank if needed. The hosts are great and thought about everything you would need. "
