Shorewood 103 - Oceanfront 1st Floor Condo

The beach is steps away from an oceanfront ground floor condo in South Forest Beach. With a private patio accessible by the living room and master bedroom, guests staying in Shorewood 103 enjoy easy access to the Atlantic Ocean and its white sandy beaches as well as the oceanfront swimming pool. After hours in the surf, vacationers return from the ocean using Shorewood's private beach walkway and then dip into the oceanfront swimming pool or a seasonally heated spa. Pool is Heated March 1 - April 30 and Oct 1 - November 30. Toddlers enjoy their separate wading pool. Shorewood is a five story elevator building located in South Forest Beach. Among the amenities offered throughout Hilton Head Island, Shorewood is two blocks from the Coligny Beach Market, a quaint downtown area that offers guests a wide selection of restaurants, shopping venues, and entertainment for all ages. This unit has a King bed in the master, 2 twins in the 2nd plus a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room.

The unit was clean, spacious, and nice comfortable furniture. The King bed was very nice and we did not use the other beds. We did not use the pool. The ocean is visible from the unit, but the dunes do block the view of the beach. We did bring up a couple of minor maintenance items that needs addressing.

Plenty of room for the 3 of us. The property is very well maintained. The pool and walkway to the beach are right outside the door. Coligny Park is close by where they have live music daily. The bike trails in Hilton Head are amazing. Beautiful location.

Perfect location

Condo is in a perfect location. Super close to the pool and boardwalk to the beach. Can sit on the patio and have a great ocean view. Unit is a little dated and could use some updates. But overall I’d stay here again for the location alone. Shorewood is an easy walk or bike ride to Coligny plaza. Easy check in and communication with seashore vacations. We did think it was odd that the complex never had a security person there during our stay. We lost our pool bag and could never find anyone working that could help us with a lost and found or anything. We called the security number and never got an answer.

Shorewood Great Ocean View Condos

The living room and dining room were comfortable. The kitchen needs some updates. Dryer took over an hour to dry 2 towels even after cleaning the filter each time. Stovetop drip pans were rusty as were skillets . Master bathroom needs updated with grab bars. Second bathroom was perfect. The outdoor table and raised swivel chairs made a perfect place to have breakfast. Shorewood is the best condo in the area. Seashore Agency has excellent customer service and rates.

103 had a water leak and we were moved to another unit … the property manager accommodated us nicely… was a unit on the 3rd floor and not right on the ocean but he did discount the room …

Great location

Love the location, amazing views. Been going to HHI for 30 years and South Forest Beach is our favorite spot on the island. Close to Coligny and perfect for biking to anything you need. The Condo itself is a little out dated and we did have issues with the dryer the whole stay and a leak in the master bathroom which was very inconvenient with 5 people for a week. Seashore Vacations did try to correct the issues but were unsuccessful. The owner needs to update dryer and replace the microwave asap at the very least. We had to dry towels everyday at a coin laundromat which was very inconvenient.

Not worth the money

Location is great, but the condo is run down and need of a complete update. The twin beds are interesting choice . The TV has problems and need of something. We have stayed in many condo's in Hilton Head and this is one of the most disappointing we have ever stayed in.

Less than expected

Property is very worn and not very clean. Whole place needs fresh paint and trim work in guest bedroom is horribly done and doesn’t match. Plug for dryer was not safe to use and needed repaired. Hallway light was exposed bulb with no fixture. Master bath sink needed snaked as water would not drain. Vent fan in bathroom needs replaced ....extremely noisy and cover is loose and does not fit(hangs loose). Both single beds in guest bed are worn and unbelievably noisy. Kitchen stove has bent grates and microwave is basically apartment size with loose turntable . TV was a complete challenge with absolutely no directions as to how to use it. No TV in guest room . We have stayed at Shorewood before and had wonderful accommodations but this unit has been ignored. The saving grace for this place was it was first floor oceanfront with easy access in and out. We would not stay in this unit again unless it had serious updating.

Update needed

Great location, but this unit is in dire need of an update. Also, the photos did not show that both bathrooms had tubs as opposed to a walk-in shower which is harder for us older folks. The master sink was clogged. We've stayed at many other Shorewood units and this one unfortunately was not up to par.

Dirty, outdated, but good location

The pull out sofa had a dirty sheet on it and multiple popcorn crumbs, hair, dusty. No extra pillows and sheets/blankets for it, so technically this cannot sleep 6 under those conditions. The shower had hair in it. There was a dead flattened frog found under the mat by the front door. Rugs throughout looked old and dirty. Twin bed comforters were hanging all over the floor. One stove burner didn’t heat up. Shower head did not spray water out evenly. Had to move all around to rinse shampoo out. Very outdated condo (which is fine) but not for the amount of money to rent this place. It is close to the pool and ocean and also to Coligny.

Million dollar view!

4 of us met up for a Girls Weekend. It was perfect for us! We laughed in the living room, ate lunch on the patio looking at the amazing view, and slept soundly with the light blocking curtains. Highly recommend!

Ocean vacay

We loved the proximity of this property.. close to so much Love the beach, bikes, etc! However the cleanliness was not the best. We had to call 2x to have the bathroom thoroughly cleaned(and they ended up regrouting the tub because of mold). We noticed a lot of areas that were dusty and overall needs a deep cleaning. If this unit had a small remodel ... basic paint, flooring etc. it would be amazing!

Would not rent this unit again

The unit was filthy and super outdated which only made the unit look worse. There was mold in both bathroom rubs, the master floor hadn’t been cleaned for weeks. The master bathroom had left over dried toothpaste on the faucet from past guest. A curtain rod was broken and hanging. The kitchen floor mats were dirty upon arrival. The ledger of both bathroom counters have not been cleaned for weeks, the master counter was sticky....we were totally disgusted with the unit

Loved the location. Loved the pool. Could have been cleaner ( dust on vents, master toilet not clean around upper edge, floors not well swept). Nice space. Comfortable. Enjoyed our stay. Loved the washer and dryer.

What’s not to love ?

My husband and I booked a short getaway “post Quarantine” and we truly enjoyed our stay. This condo is located on the ground floor with exit to the beach & pool walkway. The condo was nice & comfy. It could use a deep clean but I came ready with Lysol and wipes on hand. We rented bikes and drove down the beach and made a loop back through sea pines. Such a beautiful area and so relaxing. The condo was perfect for our stay!
