My choice in Hillsborough
Hillsborough is a bit of a shanty town..all the action seems to be in Tyrell Bay now,but Jonas and his people do a great job in my view anyway. Light breakfast and good local menu at night including fresh seafood with a little Japanese local interpretation was very nice...no beach out the front...but I enjoyed my stay here..Thanks Jonas..

Beautiful grounds! Well maintained. Very good breakfast! Restaurant is good, a little overpriced. No AC; we had mosquito nets in our rooms, and because in one room the net did not cover the two beds, they gave us another single room to one of our son. our main room, by the restaurant faced the sea and provided very beautiful rooms. No beach or swimming pool but you can snorkel safely around the property. Would recommend it to friends.

Enjoyed our stay at Green Roof Inn. Beautiful tranquil hotel, with the most stunning view of the garden overlooking the sea. Staff are very friendly and helpful. A full length mirror in our room would have been a nice touch.

Worst Hotel I've stayed at
Arrived room small fridge like a toy, asked if we could change room was told guest's were arriving as they were one day late. the room remain vacant until the day before we left. We asked to see the manager and was told she was on holiday and the staff didn't feel that she could call her, after we insisted she claims she called her manager who said we couldn't change room. We went out one night and we got locked out of our room with no way of contacting any hotel staff, and was asked if we came back late. The reason we were locked out is because we had to leave our key so the room could be clean because the hotel did not have a spare key for our room. so we stayed in the room with my sister. Although there are signs about the foot pump system to flush the toilet it was disgusting because it didn't flush well. There was a shelf above the bedhead which means you couldn't sit up in bed to read or just relax. Not a nice experience at all

Dear Vicky, I am sorry you experienced your stay with us as not adequate. You had booked our budget room with garden view and it is a lower rate than the other rooms because it is not the same standard. How ever that should still be better than your experience and I will make sure the necessary adjustments are made. When it comes to changing rooms it was not possible due to the bookings that was made by other paying guests and as a room is payed for I have to hold it for that guest in case of arrival even if it may seem vacant. Nous avons fait un charmant séjour dans cet hôtel durant 4 jours pour visiter l'ile et surtout pour plonger. nous avons aimé la vue absolument magnifique depuis notre chambre. le petit déjeuner qui était compris dans le prix était très correct. la chambre de style carribéen était très jolie. nous avons simplement déploré que le ventilateur soit assez bruyant et surtout que nous n'ayons pas eu de wi fi durant notre séjour, ce qui nous a occasionné un petit souci avec le club de plongée et notre taxi puisque nous n'avons pu joindre personne.

The breakfast was minimal and exactly the same each day, which was boring as we stayed there for 5 nights. The rooms didn’t have air conditioning but the mosquito nets, which we were expected to put on were difficult to put in place. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Charmigt hotell med underbar persolig prägel. Mysig lounge och ett litet parkområde att strosa runt i. Personalen var fantastisk och maten som fanns att beställa var mycket god och bestod av färska lokala råvaror. Perfekt för en romantisk vistelse!

Tranquil location with nice view of the ocean
Pros: Walkable to and from town (~15 min) or easy to catch the local bus. Great view from the 2nd floor balcony restaurant. Dining was a positive experience with variety of dishes. The continental breakfast was better than most. Cons: Not located on a beach front and not near shops or other restaurants. No screens on the bedroom windows made for a miserable mosquito experience. No air conditioning throughout. Toilet was a port-a-potty style and stank after 2 days. Other rooms had screens, we were told. It is lovely on the outside and very tranquil setup with extra patio seating, books and hammocks, but if you want to be comfortable and walking distance from the beach, look elsewhere.

The hotel has a lot of charm and character. The views from the second-floor room and the restaurant are captivating. Dinners were absolutely delicious; and there were fresh grapefruits from the garden for breakfast every morning!

Lovely small hotel/guest house on the coast
The Swedish owners, Jonas and Asa, were there with their two young sons, which made the experience a warm family affair and made our stay feel more like a house party than an hotel. The buffet style breakfasts together with our fellow guests each morning on the first floor terrace were a great experience and it was interesting to meet visitors from all round the world. Unfortunately on arrival we were not shown to the accommodation we had booked and Jonas admitted that he had made a mistake. It would have been nice to have been offered some compensation, for example, a complimentary dinner, as we had booked the self catering cottage and had to spend two nights in the other cottage which involved us in extra expenditure on meals out. Apart from that we were very happy at the Green Roof Inn, the style and furnishings are a lovely simple mixture of local and Swedish design. The staff are friendly and helpful and respond quickly to requests, for example for extra pillows. The gardens are lovely with a large lawned area leading down to the sea. It is possible to swim from the property with a small beach area exposed at low tide. The cottage with kitchenette is delightful having a lovely veranda with views over the sea. The shower is a bit quirky, it is a 13 amp electric shower which cuts out when the water pump kicks in leading to an intermittent hot/cold shower. The hotel is about a ten minutes walk from the town of Hillsborough and on the number 11 bus route.

I had a really lovely stay at Green Roof Inn and the staff were great. A really relaxing guesthouse to stay at, beautiful with lots of flowers and shell placed around the place. Lovely!

Great hotel, beautiful location, and the breakfast while overlooking the ocean was fantastic. The room did not have AC however, and was very hot during my stay in June.

Green Roof Inn review
Very quiet, employees nice but not talkative when asked about things we would be interested in as tourists. The water access is marginal at best. No beach, rocky entrance to coral and sand with waves breaking. If the restaurant is open in the evening we highly recommend the lobster. It is worth the price! Seems like the whole island is closed or open randomly including this restaurant. Overall this is a nice little place, but don't expect too much. If you want more, pay more somewhere else.

Beautiful Location
This is a simple, lazy hotel. No beach, no television, no A/C. It is right on the water with great shared spaces. It is walking distance to town and on the bus route servicing Windward beach. The staff was great for the most part. Restaurant on site is limited and inconsistent. In two days I had one great breakfast and one great dinner but then I was disappointed by the other breakfast and dinner. It is a small hotel so there was a nice sense of community among many of the guests. I spoke to some people at the hotel and others when we saw each other around town. Overall, it was a quiet, beautiful place to relax for a few days and I look forward to my next visit.

Nice hotel, unfriendly staff.
Nice little place near the ocean, with a pleasant yard and good view of the ocean. Rooms are simple but comfortable. The staff is a bit hostile, though. On the first day we were there, there was no hot water and the staff treated our requests to get it working as an annoyance.

Guest house plenty of charm
I spent 9 days alone at Green roof in for Christmas 2015. Just a wonderful place with a exquisite restaurant with a view on Sea. Everything is just good overthere; nice staff, comfortable room, good and large break fast included, pretty strong cafe like I enjoy, and the restaurant is the best in town. Really. A bit expensive but just sublime fish and lobster.

Hotel in ruhiger Lage nahe Hillsborough
Wir waren bei unserem Aufenthalt in Grenada auch für ein paar Tage auf der Nachbarinsel Carriacou. Diese haben wir im Green Roof Inn verbracht und sehr genossen! Das Hotel liegt fußläufig entfernt von Carriacou's Hauptstadt Hillsborough und ist sehr ruhig gelegen. Das Frühstück war lecker und der persönliche Service wird besonders großgeschrieben. Auch das individuelle Dinner - meist nur mit wenigen anderen Gästen und frischen Fischgerichten - war stets sehr liebevoll zubereitet. Einziger kleiner Kritikpunkt ist aus meiner Sicht die fehlende Klimaanlage, wodurch sich doch so einige Mücken in das Zimmer verirrt haben. Das Moskitonetz hat leider nicht so wirklich geholfen. Ansonsten aber eine traumhafte Übernachtungsgelegenheit auf Carriacou!

Hiking around Carriacou.
Lovely place a short walk from Hillsborough. Simple but adequate breakfasts,delicious dinners. No hot water, though. I hope that cold showers did us good! We had upstairs studio, well breezed and mozzie free. View from balcony, and from restaurant, is guidebook Caribbean. We used hotel as a base for hiking all round Carriacou. Route 11 passes hotel, and other buses go from central Hillsborough. For Petite Martinique, take 9am mailboat frm Windward, not 11.45am from Hillsborough. Hotel will give full details.

Vergognoso ed inospitale
Ho soggiornato con la mia famiglia per tre giorni dal 22 al 25 agosto 2014. Al nostro arrivo abbiamo trovato una camera (che vendono come suite) con due letti matrimoniali con le molle dei materassi completamente rotte ed assenza totale di acqua calda. Abbiamo effettuato più contestazioni agli addetti ed al manager che ci hanno trattato con aria di indifferenza senza mai risolvere il problema. Avevo purtroppo prepagato la camera per tre giorni e non potevo andar via. Ovviamente per tre giorni non abbiamo dormito per il mal di schiena e le mie bimbe, lavate con acqua fredda, nei giorni successivi si sono ammalate compromettendo la vacanza. L'unica nota positiva e' la splendida vista della baia dal ristorante che per la cena però non ti offre scelte (un unico piatto scarno a base di pesce). La colazione e' altrettanto misera. Il wifi funziona solo nel ristorante. L'hotel si trova sul mare ma in un posto non balneabile motivo per il quale devi noleggiare un auto o prendere un taxi per arrivare alla spiaggia di paradise beach perché quella del porto e' pessima. Expedia, a mio avviso, ha reclamizzato in modo approssimativo e non veritiero i servizi dell'hotel. Non andateci per nessuno motivo

Booked king size, upstairs room but didn't get it
We booked a king size bed, upstairs room with a view but given a downstairs room with no king size bed. We actually paid more for the upstairs room and were given the cheaper downstairs room. The individual who showed us the room was very cold and basically told us that there was still someone in the upstairs room and told us that they were going to leave at 3:30 pm and that that was the time she was going to leave as well so she did not have time to clean it which was simply ridiculous. We were not offered a refund for the difference either. There is also no water for breakfast. We had to pay for bottle water.

Great getaway
Nicely kept place, reasonably priced. Most rooms on the compact side, but have balconies. Nice small beach in front with good snorkeling but not sunbathing. Good food. Note that neighbors keep roosters, sheep and goats, which may wake you up.

Vi boede der en uge .fuldt ud tilfredse. Smukke rolige omgivelser med god restaurant og værelse med havudsigt.god service. Ingen aircondition på værelset trækker lidt ned Ingen strand i umiddelbar nærhed ,men tæt på byen. Prismæssigt i øvre ende ,men givet godt ud.
