Couples Retreat - Secluded Mountain Home Minutes From Main Street!!

Looking for a romantic couples getaway with that someone special? Need to get away from the kids for a weekend? Exhausted from work and need to decompress with some environmental stress relief? Whatever the reason, we've got you covered! This mid-century Highlands home is secluded but also less than 2 miles from the heart of Main Street. This is our second home that we've recently renovated, and is now available for rent on select dates. Walk to Smokehouse BBQ or On the Veranda restaurants, or drive five minutes to the heart of Main Street for world class shopping and gourmet restaurants. Or just hang out at home, enjoy the updated kitchen, crank up the fireplace and take in the view from the living room, dining room or bedroom through the new floor to ceiling windows that span the entire back of the home. Or get outside, immerse yourself in nature on the front or back deck, and enjoy the sound of the creek that runs through the property. Keep an eye out for the deer who love to stop by!
We love our home because of the seclusion yet proximity to Main Street and have worked hard to create a relaxing mid-century couples mountain retreat. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!!
NOTE: This is a 1 bedroom home intended for a maximum of 2 guests. It is not child or pet friendly, so unfortunately we cannot accommodate either. Thank you for respecting this restriction!

Great stay!

The house was clean, newly renovated, and had beautiful forest views. The kitchen was well appointed. We loved the porch and proximity to numerous hiking trails as well as downtown highlands.

Paradise in Paradise

This home was beyond expectations! Everything was beautifully done, with high-tech gadgetry complemented by mid-century modern aesthetics. There are other homes nearby, but one really has to look for them - it's quiet and private. Highly recommended!

Couples Retreat.

Cannot say enough about our stay. The home was beautifully finished with amazing forest views. Only a short drive to downtown highlands. Everything a traveler could need was provided. House instructions were complete and very easy to follow. Alex, our host was wonderful to communicate with and very responsive. The only thing we did not like about our stay is that we had to leave. But we will be back!!!

Great Spot!

Perfect spot for two people to enjoy the highlands! The house is very private but close to trails, shops, restaurants and waterfalls. The bed was super comfortable and everything in the home was well cared for.

Cute mid-century home close to town

Nicely renovated, quiet and private location close to town. Glad to have easy parking. Plenty of room for two. Comfortable king size bed. We enjoyed the deck for morning coffee and evening wine. Hope to stay again.

Perfect getaway for two

The hosts did a wonderful job renovating this home. The deck and covered porch was a perfect place to enjoy the outdoors. The home is in a lovely private neighborhood. We definitely would like to return.

Beautiful Get Away!

We had an amazing time staying at this property! Alex was so helpful and incredibly communicative. Check-in was a breeze and the house was perfect! The views are beautiful and it’s so close to Main Street, but you feel like you’re far from anybody else. We can’t wait to come back in the future!

Amazing Anniversary Weekend

We could not have asked for a better stay. The house was absolutely beautiful! Modern and very clean. We loved the wooded view and how close it was to downtown. Can’t wait to come back and would definitely recommend to family and friends.

BEAUTIFUL home in beautiful setting.

We absolutely loved this home away from home! Everything was spotless and the kitchen had everything we could possibly need, even the surprise gift of a bottle of sparkling wine was appreciated. Sadly, my husband and I are not fans of hard mattresses. I was able to create a soft mattress with extra bed pillows on the couch, while my husband just dealt with the bed. We loved the house too much to ask for a refund to find a different place. Also, if you have any sort of car sickness issues, it's good to know that MANY of the roads to and from the house to hikes, restaurants, shopping are VERY curvy, but worth the drive to these fantastic locations. I would definitely stay again if they had a softer mattress. Also, be sure to find out the typical weather of the Highlands before you schedule. We stayed 4 nights and had 2 days of fog and rain, dampening our hiking plans, but the delightful fireplace took away the gloom. Then we drove to Asheville for the Biltmore Estate, where it was sunny and clear! I later looked up Highlands typical weather and it stated that it is one of the rainiest places on the east coast, yet I heard many people have second houses there for the cool summers.

Beautiful woods retreat

This is a great house in a beautiful, scenic, quiet area just outside of town. Roomy yet cozy, comfortable furniture and king sized bed, fireplace, everything we needed. Good hiking nearby, excellent restaurants, both casual and upscale. We would certainly stay here again.

Amazing views with sounds of a brook.

This is a very beautiful property. We loved all the windows and views. We were able to lay in bed and hear the faint sound of the running brook. The night sounds in the forest were also amazing. We would definitely plan a return trip except that my husband learned he is altitude sensitive. Nothing wrong with the property except the elevation.

Perfect place to stay for a weekend getaway

My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary here and this was the perfect place to stay. It felt like we were in a secluded tree house and had gorgeous view from the balcony. The wonderful hosts even left us a bottle of champagne to celebrate with. Will definitely be back!!

Exceptional couples house in highlands

The house was just wonderful. Like being in the trees. Totally private and quiet. Spotless and super comfortable. Very convenient to town and hikes. Would highly recommend for a couple looking to get away.
