"We brought our 11 month old on his first beach trip and the house had everything we needed. The beach is extremely close to the property. You have the option to drive or walk. We did the 1 minute short drive. We came on this trip after heavy rainfall and there was no high water, but lots of mosquitoes on the island as a whole, so bring bug spray. It really helps. I’d recommend this property to families of 3-4 or 2 couples! It was great for our family of 3."

"We stayed April 21-26. We enjoyed birding in High Island and on Bolivar Flats. Each morning we walked over to Roll Over pass to view shorebirds. The views from the deck were lovely, relaxing and there was a nice breeze. We didn’t experience mosquitoes while dining outside. The house was nicely furnished and had ample cookware for meals cooked in house. We would stay here again during migratory season due to the proximity to multiple hot spots and the privacy, cleanliness of the property."

"Great location!!! The floorplan is great for entertaining large groups of people and retreating back to quit space alone. The immaculate attention to detail brought the outside beach vibes to every space inside. If you're wanting a turn key home away from home, this is it!"

"Our big group enjoyed the 3 night stay at Sol Shine. The king beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and the trip to the beach was short and easy. The bunk room was fabulous for the kids along with its private bathroom. We had a minor issue with door lock and maintenance was there within 20 minutes of our call. Highly recommend!"

"We don’t have one single complaint about this property or its host. Super easy check in, all communication was handled promptly. The location is ideal and there isn’t one thing we needed - they’ve thought of everything! Highly recommend!"

"We stayed here for a weekend getaway with our friends and loved it. The house is so cute with plenty of room for everyone. The patio downstairs has everything you can think of to keep everyone entertained. Everything was very clean and Dave & Emily communicated exceptionally well with us. Highly recommend!"

"This house was designed for people who wish to stay in or near the house. Ample seating for meals and relaxation as a group. The acoustics were awesome since we took a few guitars with us too. We had a local church youth group I saw from another review, carry the luggage up for a donation. You can reach them at 409-684-4413. Ask for Pastor Daniel. This was a wonderful vacation and i would recommend the house to anyone who wants to leave some trouble behind for a few days."

"Saltwater Inn was quite a surprise. Reading the reviews, I was a little skeptical. I was even a little wary when I first arrived, due to its rugged appearance. However, don't judge a book by its cover. The office staff was extremely welcoming, and the room was pristine and comfortable. Although the decor is minimalistic, I had all the essentials I needed and then some. Thank you, Mike et al.! I highly recommend Saltwater Inn without reservation."
