Where do I start. I love the airplanes flying to and from the airport. It must remind me of when I was a baby and we lived under the flight path for LAX. But this time, it was extra hard for me at Days Inn. I checked in and, same as last time, there was something wrong with the room. This time it was a toilet handle that did not even go down, let alone flush. I was moved to another room, but there was no acknowledgement of how tiring this was for me, as I had put all my stuff away, schlepped up the stairs, etc. and the woman downstairs never even said "I'm sorry". I am 64, and in fairly good shape, but I was tired and hungry. Then the next morning I realized my toilet did not flush properly. WARNING, I'm going to be graphic: it took 6 flushes to flush down a you-know-what. When I said this to the front desk she showed no emotion at all and was upset that I told her to please look me in the eye (She had looked down at her phone for a moment, just a moment, but that is still really rude when a guest is complaining.) She was so mad I mentioned this that I ended up apologizing (Why?) I was so rattled. I figured the manager would acknowledge me the next day but crickets. I complained to Expedia, and originally was told the front desk agent said I was moved, they accommodated me, and the toilet worked. I was incensed. I was now going downstairs to do my "business". Expedia escalated my case and at least I got 1/2 off my stay (It will take a while to get the credit). Libby was nice!
