Charming 1 bedroom, 1 bath, vintage Hawaiian style cottage, located just off the main road with hedges providing privacy. A private and romantic location with palm trees surrounding the expansive yard. This serene setting is perfect for a honeymoon or romatic getaway. High Speed WiFi Internet Service. A Weber Charcoal BBQ Grill, Outdoor Shower, Covered Lanai with day bed for lounging, a very quick walk to Hanalei Bay or to restaurants and shopping in Hanalei town. King bed in the roomy bedroom. Newly painted interior and cabinets have given this sweet cottage new life.

As required by Interpretive Administrative Zoning Rules and Regulations, Rule 1-A, “for those transient vacation rentals located in the tsunami evacuation zone", we are informing you that transient vacation rentals located in Hanalei, Wainiha and Haena are located in the tsunami evacuation zone.

We absolutely loved this property not just its great location, but the original feel of the plantation house. We loved even during the typical rain that comes through the house still was dry and cozy. The outdoor shower was secluded.

We had a wonderful stay at the Plantation Cottage in Hanalei. The property is very well maintained and it’s very quiet and private. We loved that it’s walking distance to both town and the beach. Thanks for a great stay.

Amazing stay!

The Plantation Cottage was great! This cottage is well taken care of and very clean. We loved the privacy and the close proximity to the beach. The sunrise from the porch was great in the mornings. The bed was very comfortable. We have stayed on the north shore multiple times and this is our new favorite. We would love to stay here again.

So close to the beach!

We spent a lovely week here. 5 minute walk to the beach, 10 minute walk to Hanalei village. The cottage had everything we needed for a beach day. Very private and relaxing. Can’t wait to return!

Great stay

We spent a week in this house and it was wonderful. Super clean, comfortable and peaceful. First time in Hawaii and it felt very authentic. 5min walk from the beach but you can hear the waves crashing from the property. Highly recommend - would stay there again.

Darling, peaceful cottage on very large private lot across from beach. Perfect for a romantic getaway! Of note- we did leave our snacks on the counter that invited the sugar ants. We kept them at bay by cleaning the counter daily and moving the snacks.

Lovely location with large private yard

The cottage was in a good location, close to the town of Hanalei. I had neglected to look at the fact that there's no AC or heat/cooling pumps, just fans and screened windows. Hence we suffered a bit from the heat, but overall this cottage has a lot going for it. There was some construction noise as early as 7am from 2 neighboring properties, but this won't always be the case.

Almost impossible to review this property as my entire stay (4 out of 20+ planned days) took place during severe weather and flash flood warnings culminating in an emergency escorted exit—I was one of the last cars escorted out before a major landslide closed Hanalei for up to three months. All problems were related to these conditions, and the managers did their best to mitigate the situation. I would visit again, possibly in a drier month. All best wishes for Hanalei to make a speedy recovery.

Cozy. Private. Close to everything we love about Hanalei.

We loved our week at the Plantation Cottage. The cottage is a very short walk to two beach access points, including the Hanalei Pier, in a neighborhood of vacation rentals. Next door is a huge estate that is rarely occupied. The cottage has a large backyard with a tall hedge around it, and is back off the street, so there is a feeling of complete privacy. The outdoor shower, the large lanai with a bed on it, watching stars at night and waterfalls during the day from the backyard, the soft lawn that feels good on bare feet, and the lack of mosquitos, all of these were unexpected pleasures. The bed was comfortable as well. We were concerned at first that the cottage is not air conditioned, but between the abundance of screened windows, floor fans and ceiling fans, and intermittent rain showers, we seldom got hot, and when we did, we stepped into the outdoor shower or the waters of Hanalei Bay. We stocked up on fresh produce and meats at the two Hanalei farmer's markets and supplemented at Foodland, about 10 minutes away. For lunch, we walked to the Hanalei Taro Truck for the best pork tacos. The slack key concert with Doug and Sandy McMasters was a nice way to stay out of the sun on a hot afternoon. We can't wait to return.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've been traveling to Kauai multiple times a year for a decade. We wanted to spend a week right off of the beach in the sleepy little walkable town of Hanalei. There are very few vacation properties in Hanalei for a couple to rent and we felt that we scored on this little cottage. Upon checking in we discovered a very dated kitchen and bathroom. This would be FINE had we not paid a crazy premium to stay in Hanalei. We saw cockroaches almost daily in the kitchen which caused us to wash each dish before using it. We decided not to cook any food as a result. Not our first time at the island bug rodeo but I also expect a home of this price to have figured out how to keep the roaches out. The kitchen was dated and certainly did not make cooking very desirable. The bathroom shower hosted a centipede/scolopendra so we chose to use the outdoor shower instead. The next door neighbors partied every night at the Plantation until after midnight each night.. the sounds of bass bumping each night vs the sounds of ocean waves breaking as we hoped. I could have called to complain during our trip but we were doing our best to avoid confrontation and put out that energy. Upon our return, I followed up via phone and email to Na Pali Properties to discuss our trip and to give some advice for this unit and never heard back. I also discovered after we returned that there was an optional trip cancellation fee that we paid and we certainly would not have paid this fee had I realized it. One last thing - there is no immediate beach access from this unit. You have to walk 5 mins down the road to the park to enter the beach. We ended up still driving there because of beach chairs, cooler, etc. Overall it was fine. Was it worth the money - absolutely not.

Reviewer Comments: This is the second time we have stayed at the Plantation Cottage, and we really enjoy the serenity and quiet of this little simple cottage. NOT modern, but well appointed and charming in its own way. Once there we find we don't really want to leave, well except for walks to Tahiti Nui, Dolphin fish market, or the great beach just across the road. Napali Properties was attentive to any needs we had whenever we have stayed at one of their properties.
