"I always enjoy staying at the Stonefence. They are upgrading the pool area so that wasn't available to swim in, but the beautiful river was! I hope that opening the restaurant will work out for them (they were doing a "soft opening" during the stay). I loved my lunch out on the patio, reading my book and seeing the river."

"Donna and Jim were AWESOME!! We took the opportunity to "road trip" through northern NY to catch some fall foliage. Stumbled upon the Sherman Inn as darkness fell upon us as we made it into Ogdensburg. What a find!! Between the rooms, the history of the school, the breakfast and the graciousness of our hosts the experience could not have been better. This will always be part of the story we tell as part of this vacation!! "

"This stay was a homecoming for me, since my parents had lived right on the St. Lawrence, and nearly the entirety of my late mom's family still live nearby. The area is largely agricultural, with many dairy farms and green pastures. It is a truly beautiful part of NY State and we were very much looking forward to getting back there to visit. We were not disappointed. The property is very nice -- extremely clean and well maintained, with a GREAT bed! The property owner, Ali,is extremely pleasant...

Owers were very kind and a pleasure to talk too, they were alo very accommodating and flexible with check-in. After a long drive and later check-in the complimentary glasses of wine and charcuterie board were a wonderful plus and a great start to what was an amazing weekend. "We loved our stay on Trout Lake! Check in was easy and as described. The kitchen was well-stocked and nicely set up for meal prep for our group of 7. We enjoyed the bi-level deck with a large table and chairs for 6 on both levels. The inside common area was plenty spacious for the one rainy day we needed to be indoors. The outdoor space with the fire pit was perfectly situated on the property to maximize star-gazing. Being able to use the pontoon boat was a wonderful surprise. We used it to...
