5-Star Vacation on the Island in Hamelin
This 113-square-meter apartment is located on the first floor of the lock house on the island in Hamelin, right next to the historic, protected “Inselvilla” from the Gründerzeit era, offering a magnificent view of the Weser River and the historic old town. The floor-to-ceiling windows in many rooms provide a spectacular view of the river. You’ll find a spacious, light-filled apartment that invites you to relax. The apartment features underfloor heating in the kitchen and living room, and the floors are laid with high-quality engineered wood planks.

Living Area

The living-dining area, spanning over 40 square meters, is the heart of the apartment and opens directly onto the kitchen. The large, curved sofa invites you to relax. In the reading nook, you can settle into a comfortable armchair. Relax here with a good book or enjoy the crackling of the fire in the wood-burning stove. For your entertainment, a Bluetooth sound system by Teufel and a TV with satellite connection are available in the living room of the vacation apartment. The living room has been furnished according to a high-quality design concept and combines modern designer furniture with historic elements. Blue, red, and wood are the dominant colors. The designer lamp is made of Weser wood.

Kitchen

The kitchen in the vacation rental is an open-concept kitchen that opens directly onto the dining area. Here you’ll find everything a cook’s heart desires. Enjoy your morning coffee or tea in the small sitting area in the kitchen with a view of the Weser River. The kitchenette features a dishwasher, a large sink, a ceramic cooktop, an exhaust hood, and numerous cabinets and drawers. On the opposite side, you’ll find the refrigerator with a small freezer compartment, the oven, and a pantry cabinet stocked with basic essentials such as flour, sugar, tea, coffee, and oil.

Bedroom

Each bedroom in the vacation rental features two double box-spring beds, each equipped with a comfortable mattress. The Weser bedroom offers a breathtaking direct view of the water—it feels as though the river is within arm’s reach. Both bedrooms include a dresser with drawers and a clothes rod, as well as a comfortable wicker armchair and a Bose sound system. The Weser bedroom also features a flat-screen TV with satellite connection.
The vacation apartment in the lock house on the island in Hamelin has two bedrooms, each accommodating two people; however, if you’re traveling in a larger group, please check the availability of our neighboring apartment in the Inselvilla. It can accommodate up to six additional guests.
For our younger guests: The apartment includes a Hauk travel crib, approximately 60 x 120 cm.
To ensure your vacation can begin right away, the beds are already made, and two towels per person are provided for you.

Bathroom

In the spacious bathroom of the vacation rental, you’ll find a full-glass shower as well as a large, inviting corner bathtub. Your towels are kept warm on the towel warmer. The toilet is equipped with a soft-close system, and there is a sink in the bathroom. The bathroom is accessible directly from the Weser bedroom and from the Schleuse bedroom via the hallway. Please note that both bedrooms are accessible via a large step.
Two towels are provided for each guest.

Terraces and Beach Chair

The Schleusenhaus features several outdoor seating areas. On the sun terrace, you can enjoy the view of Hamelin Cathedral and the Inselvilla. Garden furniture is available here. Adjacent to the grill and fire pit area, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Weser River from the historic natural-stone bench right by the harbor. The beach chair and a small lawn are located on the Sunset Lawn. Here, you’re situated directly above the Weser River and have an unobstructed view of the water.
Please note that access to the harbor facilities is not permitted.

Wi-Fi and Internet

Wireless Internet (Wi-Fi) is available throughout the entire vacation rental at broadband speeds of up to 50 Mbit/s. If you need technical assistance: On the first floor of the Inselvilla (neighboring building), the internet agency SOL.Service Online will answer any questions you may have regarding internet access and is also happy to set up access on your devices during business hours (Mon–Thu 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fri 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.).
