"A fantastic B&B in a lovely rural location but a short drive away from all amenities. On the Pennine Way and nearby Hadrian's Wall walks. Lesley and Katie are welcoming and have really considered the needs of their guests. The B&B rooms are in a building with its own lounge, which is filled with maps, information leaflets, local information and even blister kits and deep heat for those who have finished a long day's walk. "From the minute we arrived, Lisa couldn't have done more for us. We felt completely catered for and had a wonderful stay. The school house has been renovated so beautifully and we loved hearing about and seeing the history of it. The bed was extremely comfy and we slept brilliantly, waking to a gorgeous home-coked breakfast. "Just returned from wonderful two night stay at Black burn Lodge and it lives up to the rave reviews. Stunning location by the river, where we spent the evenings in the gazebo enjoying the views and a glass of Baileys . The room was spotlessly clean with high quality bedlinen and furnishings. Also separate lounge if weather not great. The hosts make you feel so welcome and provide a lot of formation about where to eat and visit in the area. Would highly recommend and hope to visit again."
