Southern Sands is now entirely SMOKE-FREE; there is a covered, designated smoking area next to the BBQ area. No smoking allowed anywhere else, including balconies.

Direct gulf front condo with panoramic views of the sparkling gulf water and sugar white sand beach. 2Br/2Ba, 3rd floor condo on scenic West Beach in Gulf Shores. Condo size is approx. 1,000 SqFt.

The well-appointed kitchen includes all appliances, a single & 12-cup coffee maker, and all the essentials. Ample granite counter space with newly installed backsplash and over-the-counter microwave.

Southern Sands is a low density complex - only 18 units - that is directly on the beach, and easy walking distance to the center of town! Island Outfitters, Lauria's, & High Tide directly across the street. Ice cream/snowcone/deli store is a block!

Recently replaced sleeper sofa and living room furniture plus new Smart TVs with Netflix, HULU, etc (user account required). Tap to Connect Wifi block in the kitchen!

Continually updated, this direct gulf front condo is fully tiled with bright decor. This condo has a private double-sized balcony directly on the beach and gulf w/great pool viewing also. Condo has all appliances, whirlpool tub in hall bath, ice maker, CableTV(3), DVD, CD-Stereo. Complex includes Elevator, BBQ grilling area, full size Washer/Dryer available - credit/debit card service on each floor ($1.50/cycle). Free WiFi included. Parking Permits are $42/ea(2 MAX). Parking Permits are $52/ea(2 MAX) during Hangout Festival.

E-thermostat allows cooling to 70 deg - system disable w balcony door open > 5min.. Tampering with system is a guest charge.

Wish I could have a do over of the stay as the 3 flights of stairs were brutal and I didn’t realize there was an elevator until the day we left HAH! Nice view from the balcony. My only complaint is the balcony furniture is very uncomfortable and the master bed is very squeaky.

Great Condo !!!

We stayed in unit #306 over Labor Day weekend 2024 and really enjoyed it. We loved everything about this place. The only thing we saw that needed attention was the Queen bed, it needs replacing. We will ask for this unit in the future. Thank you for letting us enjoy your condo !!

Beautiful view

This is a small group of houses in the middle of a larger group of buildings so the pool wasn’t so busy located on the beach so it was easy to move back and forth. All located near just about anything you wanted. Very beautiful, very clean, this is the place you would want for your own place.

Weekend Get Away

If you’re looking for a little place to comfortably sleep & shower with cold AC, on the beach, this is it. It’s so nice to be at a smaller venue with less competition for a dip in the pool/parking, etc. The wide balcony stretches across two rooms (the living room and one bedroom) and is one of the best in this complex. It has places for 6 people to enjoy morning coffee or a last call nightcap. I would definitely rent this place again with a small group. Perfect for a weekend get away for two couples and a guest or two who don’t mind a pull out bed.

Spring break!

Great location right on the beach and a small walk from all the shops, ice cream and restaurants! #306 has an amazing view beach front view, pictures don’t do it justice. Our condo was the perfect size for me, my husband and our 14 and 15 year old boys. We loved that it was a “smaller” unit of 18 condos and not a packed high rise hotel. If we come back to Gulf Shores we will definitely be staying at Southern Sands again! I recommend it to everyone!

Great place to stay for a family of 5 clean, close to good food and entertainment walk to the beach

Had a great stay. Was clean a minute or two walk to the beach. Communication with property management was clear. Will definitely be back it was perfect for my family of 5. They only complaint I would have is that you had to keep adjusting the thermostat it was set on a program time and temp would have to cut it down to the desired temperature about 3 times a day would give it 4.5 stars out of 5 everything else was great other than the cleaning crew got there about 30 mins early on the last day and we felt rushed to leave

Location, location, location!

My family decided on a "spur of the moment" trip to the beach for the 4th of July. We couldn't have asked for anything more perfect. The location was fantastic with many places to eat and shop within a comfortable walking distance - very important in July! We also felt comfortable with our older teenage sons exploring the area on their own. Speaking as someone who has a hard time with the crowds at large, high rise condos, this condo was as described with a low density beach and quiet pool. Beach umbrellas and chairs are available for rent and are only a single row unlike the 2-3 rows in other areas. Be aware that you cannot have tents and canopies near the water. With only 18 units, parking is a breeze, some are covered. My children have been to some pretty elaborate accommodations in the past and they all deemed this place "the best we've ever had." The condo was clean. Check in was a breeze, even at 11pm. The kitchen was well stocked. My only advice to potential renters is to bring your own heavier blankets, if desired. I worried about having communal laundry but had absolutely no problems with it. If you are looking for a less crowded, fully functional, beach front place - look no further. We hope to return soon.

Great Location

We enjoyed our stay at Gulfsands. Very relaxing and had everything we needed. There was an issue with an appliance but they fixed it in a matter of hours. Super nice people.

Great stay in a great location!

Great location with great views. Easy walk to the Hangout and restaurants, stores. And about a 15 minute drive to Orange Beach. We stayed over Spring Break and wasn't overly busy, but wasn't overly warm either. Would stay here again!

Perfect oceanfront condo...

I've stayed at this complex before, so knew it was a low-density condo with absolutely amazing oceanfront views. And, with this stay, we were not disappointed. The condo was VERY clean and had everything we needed for a short stay. The location is ideal, we could walk to almost everything. The only drawback was the check-in process for this unit. We had to stop at a building on the way in to town to pick up a check-in packet, which was an inconvenience. Since parking passes can be left in the unit, there is a keypad entry, and we used the VRBO app to reserve the condo, I'm not sure why it was necessary to pick up a parking pass and a piece of paper with our code on it. But, it was a small inconvenience to stay at a great condo!

Absolutely loved the place. It was convenient enough that I never had to drive anywhere. Close to the beach, Close to restaurants, and Close to the stores. Absolutely loved the view the most. The o ky issue that I encountered was the elevator, it was sketchy to ride on. But other then that, I definitely give this place 5 stars and will love to come back again REAL SOON!!!

Perfect family getaway

The view from the balcony was AMAZING. You really can't get much better. There was plenty of room in the condo for the 4 of us. The condo was clean besides many of the dishes, so we had to clean everything before using them. Also, there was only enough bedding for the the beds, no extra throw blankets and the bedding was very thin. The pool area was clean and in the sun most of the day which was great, though the pool wasn't heated. The location is also very close to all the favorite restaurants, once we parked the car, we walked everywhere the rest of our vacation!! Overall, we would definitely go again to the same place!!
