"We stayed in a family room which was brilliant. The kids had a separate sleeping area and separate beds which was great! Nice spacious room for the four of us. Everything needs updating but i overheard that this property is being updated soon. Unfortunately the water was turned off on our last morning. Reception warned us the night before which we were grateful for and we were provided with plenty of bottled water in the morning and an apology from reception which i was grateful for. We found...

"The rooms were fine-we’d stay there again. The bathroom fan was running in the wrong direction-pulling air in."

"Food was exceptionally good with great choice. Staff pleasant and helpful."

"Very difficult access for parking"

"Staff were very friendly and helpful, comfy bed, lovely hot powerful shower! Great food and beer, really enjoyed my stay!"

"Top Accommondation!"

"This is a place that has been designed to make you feel at home. The rooms are tastefully decorated with colorful fabrics and interesting decorations. The pub is dog and human friendly and is a popular spot for locals. Jack, the Bernese Mountain dog is regularly present as he belongs to Kenny, one of the owners. Kenny and staff have put together an eclectic playlist of songs that are ever present in the background but not so loud as to interfere with conversation. The entire staff works hard to...

"Beautifully decorated hotel with excellent food and helpful pleasant staff."

"We were walking the Pennine Way and stopped off at Bongate House after reaching Dufton and after walking/backpacking for most of the day. We had a very friendly welcome from Ann who on arrival looked after our every need. Breakfast was ample and tasty. The property suited our needs perfectly. Thank you Ann!"

"We just loved our stay here at Augill Castle. It was like being in a movie. Quirky and charming, beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed wine in the sitting room, a lovely dinner and breakfast. Our room was so beautiful, a very comfortable bed, and the hosts and staff were all so lovely. A very memorable stay!"

"Lovely house with fab view of the Eden Valley."

"What a great hotel. It is quite isolated, but is a little gem. After storms, we had a short power cut and I almost expected to hear a scream from a maid discovering a crime and Hercule Poirot appearing. The food was reasonable, if not sparkling but we did have a powercut in the middle of dinner and they coped admirably. The staff seemed quite...

"This has to be the craziest room I've ever stayed in, in a good way. The floors were sloped the furniture was sloping in line with the floors. Bed comfy amd bathroom was nice and clean. If you are after a quirky stay then this place is for you."

"Staff could not have been more helpful. Home from home with super public areas and wonderful food. A gem we will visit again soon!"
