An amazing calming find outside of the city. Beautiful property, easy instructions. Due to its historic nature and age, probably not best for people with mobility issues. Enjoyable stay!

If you like the sounds of birds while you read outside under a veranda then this is the place for you. There is plenty of space around your unit so any other visitors are across a huge lawn area. The adjoining road to this property is not heavily traveled and we saw some cyclists take advantage of it on our own walk past fields of grasses and oatsā€¦The cottage layouts are comfortable and take you back to a simpler time. Bring your binoculars. In May we ate outside at the picnic table and weā€™re not bothered by one insect.

Fantastic little cottage on historic grounds! Nico has a great little getaway in this cottage, perfect for a couple's getaway in the country. Historic grounds with plenty of walking in the fields for the pup. Great pool for a quick dip or a refreshing afternoon. Close to restaurants, and just a short jaunt to Gordonsville and Charlottesville.

Nico, the Hosts, was great and easy to communicate with. The check in process was exellent and easy, with clear directions and instructions. The cottage was pleasant, but had a little wasps and stink bug problem, which Nico provided bug/wasp spray to help control it a bit. Location was great and peaceful, with beautiful landscape. Plenty of walking area, trails, and sight seeing for our 100 lbs Akita dog to enjoy. A couple of small towns close by with good places to eat and shop. Lots of wineries close by for tastings and just enjoying some adult time. Only true compliant was they could use some newer and better pillows and mattresses. Wasn't the worst, but an upgrade would help with a better night'sbsleep. Overall, I would recommend if you are looking for a relaxing time to get away from it all.

Beautiful cottage, nicely decorated, very clean. I loved the pool! I had it all to myself. I would give it 5 stars if the mattresses were better. I think this is a place for older people without children so comfort of the beds os important. Otherwise I would recommend to friends and would return.

We loved our stay at the bungalow. The bungalow is on an old historic farm and is very quiet. We loved going to the pool and taking walks with our dogs down the lane to see the horses. Very close drive to Monticello and for those of you who like wine there a many wineries in the area and many antique stores. Nico is very nice, he greeted us one day and we talked for a while and told us about the history of the farm. We would definitely stay again which might be soon since my wife loved the quiet and all the wineries.

Beautiful, quiet setting. The cottage was tidy and functional. Wifi worked very well. Host was easy to communicate with, as the wifi had been unplugged by the cleaning person just before we arrived. We slept downstairs as the ac upstairs was not enough to cool that room. The trundle beds downstairs were likely ok for kids or teens, but our older bodies missed our memory foam topper quite badly. We hope to stay again on another visit.

This is such a beautiful and quiet property. It was very peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed the pool and the quiet time away. We loved the unique cottage and history about the farm. Nico and Kim were very responsive on the rare times we needed anything. We definitely hope to return and stay again!

We were only in the Charlottesville area for two nights but we were so pleased with the little cottage off the beaten path. Everything was clean and the bed upstairs was very comfortable. The stairs are a little terrifying, especially at night, but nothing deliberate focus couldn't handle. The clear skies and stars at night make any concerns about staying at this property melt away. My husband has already said we're staying here again if we go back to Cville.

We loved our stay here with our two small children. Itā€™s a wonderfully designed space and very comfy. Central heating worked very well. The downstairs curtains were good for keeping out the morning light. The loft bedroom was super fun, and the grounds outside are gorgeous. Lots of amenities provided. As the listing says, thereā€™s a dryer but no washer. WIFI usually worked fine. Couldnā€™t ask for a lovelier spot!

It's like sleeping in a piece of history. Very authentic servants' cabin with just enough modern upgrading to make it comfortable. The property is stunningly beautiful and the cabin had everything we needed. Thanks to the owners (and their animal friends) for this delightful stay. We will come back!
