"Excellent place to stay to explore the eastern portion of the Shawnee National Forest. We used it as a launching point to see the Garden of the Gods, Cave in Rock, and Dixon Springs State Park. Wish we had another day to do more exploring. The cabin is secluded, so stock up on groceries and charcoal for the grill before you arrive. "Stellar property at that price point. Only things lacking were pots and pans to cook (we donated a set upon leaving), and furniture. A couch or two would be appropriate. Very nice kitchen, shame it was limited in use."

"We had previously stayed at this property when Mark was managing. New management was more difficult to contact and it was a little disappointing to see that the angel garden has been removed. Overall, our stay was fine."

"We specifically were looking for a place with a kitchen so we could cook. This has a kitchen, but it was almost non-functional. No knives, no hot mitts, no cutting board, nothing to bake with. We improvised,but then the oven got stuck on 500 degrees/broil and wouldn't turn off. No one was on site that evening, and it took about 2 hours until our messages and phone calls were noticed. "Everything was wonderful except the kitchen was short on a few cooking items. There was no frying pans at all to cook in and could also use some mixing bowls and serving bowls to cook with."
