Simply the best
This was my family’s second time staying at Blue Hues and we love it! The house is clean, laid out well, and the host goes out of their way to make sure every little detail has been taken care of so your vacation runs smoothly and is enjoyable. From the well stocked kitchen, backup generator and too many other amenities to mention, the owner has thought of everything. The pictures don’t do it justice. The icing on the cake is the expansive property, with spacious deck, private pool, and the most amazing views with access to the community’s private beach. Truly a nature lovers dream. If you like private, this is your place. Utterly stunning!

Amazing family vacation in Exuma!!
Where do I begin? I can't speak enough praises for this property and the owners. Rick was attentive from the moment I clicked the "reserve" button for his property. He is extremely responsive and informative. There were no details missed. I texted him while down there to ask if there was a way to turn the water pressure down (it was painful on my sunburn), and he said there wasn't. I then got a text saying that he went out to buy a water pressure regulator for the master shower based off my text! Rick is a wealth of knowledge about Exuma and offered up wonderful suggestions for places to eat and things to do. Sugar Adventure Tours is a must! Captain Sugar is an amazing person and took good care of us. My mom had difficulty getting into the boat for our 1/2 day tour, so the next day (when he took us out fishing), he put the boat in the creek (shallow and a huge risk to his equipment) to make it easier for my mom to get in. The description of this property does not do it justice. This place is indescribable. You have to experience it for yourself to understand how truly magical this property is! The grounds are beautiful and meticulously kept. There are cool pathways that weave throughout the property for you to explore the flowers and other vegetation. I could write pages about how wonderful our experience was, but if you're planning on visiting Exuma, Blue Hues is THE place to stay!! We can't wait to go back!!

Picture Perfect Location - Blue Hues
We had a wonderful stay at Blue Hues. The property location was amazing and the house did not disappoint. There was a book on property that detailed everything we needed to know about this lovely home and helpful hints on local places to visit. The views were beyond amazing and although there were other houses in the neighborhood we had the beach to ourselves everyday. We traveled the island to view other beaches but in the end paradise was in our back yard. Definitely would recommend this beautiful home for your next vacation destination.

FABULOUS
Our family of seven had the best vacation ever!!! It's hard to put into words just how wonderful our stay was at Blue Hues. Every inch of the property is absolutely stunning, the grounds are meticulously maintained, the accommodations are the best VRBO that we've ever stayed at, and we've stayed at many over the years, the pool and beach are spectacular, and the million-dollar views from everywhere on the property are like nowhere else. AMAZING!!! It was such a special time that we all enjoyed to the fullest. The owners Rick & Jodi have gone the extra mile to ensure that every box has been checked, they have literally thought of everything that visitors might need or might enjoy. All the info, island tips, and recommendations they provided were extremely helpful. They are indeed Rock Stars!!!! It was hard for all of us to leave when our trip came to an end.

Paradise
What an awesome location! The beach and water are beautiful. We had fun relaxing at the beach, by the pool and on the upper deck. It is so easy to get around the island and great grocery stores are really close. We ate at several restaurants and I would highly recommend CocoPlum Bistro, Blu on the Water, Mike’s Pizza and Sonia’s (small hut in town). Overall a wonderful place to stay that is so clean and well stocked with all kinds of water toys! We can’t wait to go back!

Perfect spot
The property and location are amazing and exactly as described in the listing. Rick is a communicative and helpful host all throughout the process. The property has everything you would need from kayaks to fully stocked kitchen equipment all the way down to reusable shopping bags for the grocery. I can’t think there would be a better option for where to stay in Exuma.

Blue Hues vacation
I cannot say enough about the property, being a repeat guest. We went with two other couples for a relaxing vacation. The bedrooms and living area were spacious and comfortable. The amenities were great and the instructions on how to operate and find things were very clear. They have everything you could want for the beach and pool areas. The surrounding gardens and walkways were very beautiful and tranquil. The morning sunrises were amazing! We kept commenting on the blue hues of the ocean water being so blue.We were treated to the peacocks spreading their feathers one day and walking around along with a sea turtle. We came to relax and decompress and have an overall good time and Blue Hues did not disappoint. We use VRBO a lot with our business and this is one of the top properties in terms of comfort, amenities, cleanliness, and one of the most beautiful settings. We will be back!

Another stay in paradise!
This was our second trip to Blue Hues. We waited 2 long years to return! The property is beyond description! The care taken of the property is almost as great as the care Rick takes to make sure your stay is perfect. Honestly, the weather was just okay, but having the pool and the countess places to hang out, we were just fine. We have stayed in many vacation rentals over the last 25 years, and no one matches Rick as a host!!! Shout out to Michelle and Amos who keep things so beautiful!

Gorgeous
What an amazing place! Richard’s home is truly gorgeous. Very spacious and tidy. Great master mattress! So much great advice from Richard as well on things to do and etc. the private beach shared with just a few neighbors was amazing! We highly recommend and will be back soon!

Fabulous property!
Blue Hues is beautiful beyond description! The house is spotless and has all the amenities you could possibly need. The beds are very comfortable. The grounds are manicured and the plants & vegetation are so lush. The ocean view is spectacular and the proximity to the beach is great. Highly recommend!

Amazing family vacation in Exuma!
My husband and I traveled with our three young children (ages 1, 3 and 5) and my parents to Exuma. Our time at Blue Hues was amazing! The house and surrounding property is beautiful and well kept. My husband and our kids stayed in the main house and my parents stayed in the guest house. We all had more than ample space. The outdoor showers were a huge hit for the kids and adults. We loved the vast amount of flowers and wildlife on the property. My boys loved finding the peacocks, dozens of geckos, and hummingbirds each day. We loved the beach at the house and spent several days kayaking around Hooper's Bay. The water is so calm that I felt comfortable taking my 1 and 3 year olds out in the kayak with me. Rick provides high-end kayaks and great life jackets for kids (there were plenty for adults as well) in addition to lots of beach and pool toys. We cooked breakfast at the house every morning. The kitchen was well stocked and had lots of seasonings available. My husband and I have traveled with our children throughout the Caribbean and central America and would highly recommend a family vacation to Exuma. The water is truly beautiful and there are so many unique animal encounters (stingrays--a family favorite, starfish, pigs, sea turtles, dolphins, pigs, iguannas, etc) to experience. The island is serene and relaxing with an ample amount of things to do to make each day fun and unique.

Trip of a lifetime
The property was everything we expected and more. Loved the gardens and wildlife. Peter the peacock was well behaved. The house was extremely well kept and stocked with everything you need for a vacation on the beach. We loved having a pool and outdoor showers. The outdoor massage area was perfect for outdoor massages by the beach. Can’t wait to come back. Loved the locals. Porgie’s was my favorite.

Fantastic week!
My husband and I brought our three girls and their three boyfriends to stay at Rick’s vacation home for a week! Rick communicated and provided via email all the information we could possibly need to have a great trip! The house and grounds are spectacular! We were so comfortable and my daughter and her boyfriend stayed in the little cottage and loved it! I wouldn’t change a thing! Words really cannot describe how beautiful the property is and the location on the island can’t be beat! We will be back to enjoy again in the near future!

Third Timers!
This was our third stay at Blue Hues and each visit we have stayed longer! The location is perfect, private and extremely peaceful. We love both a pool and the beach which is ultimately the reason we first chose Blue Hues. The pool is beautiful and high enough to overlook the Old Hooper's Bay and the beach is right below the pool. The waters of Exuma are pristine and crystal clear. Every detail is taken care of and thoughtfully put in place by the home owners, Rick and Jodi. Their thoroughness of information for the house, property and the entire island makes vacation easy and relaxing. Rick is a wealth of knowledge and has become a friend over the last few years. There is not another property with this amount of privacy which is why we love it so much! Blue Hues is the perfect location for a big family vacation or a small intimate one. We have referred friends who have booked a week at Blue Hues after hearing us rave about each trip we've taken there. We are 100% returning for our fourth trip to Exuma and will only stay at Blue Hues! The hospitality and appreciation from Rick and Jodi is hands down some of the best we have experienced. We can't wait to return!

Absolute Paradise!
I’m not sure what I can say that everyone else hasn’t already said. From the moment we booked this incredible home, Rick was amazing! The attention to detail and him making sure that we felt prepared and ready to enjoy paradise were beyond my expectations. The home is stunning, with every amenity you could possibly need. It is beautiful both inside and outside, and I have never experienced such attention to detail-even with small things, such as nice hair dryers-it was so appreciated! And, although the weather didn’t cooperate much for our stay, this beautiful home made it not seem so bad. The location was ideal-private, yet a short drive to many fun activities in Georgetown. Look no further if you truly want the best of everything-including the Best Host/Person you get to know! We will definitely be back to Blue Hues!

Great Return Visit
This was our second week at Blue Hues and it was even better than the first. Rick, as mentioned, was extremely communicative before and during the visit and is the best host. The house has everything needed for a comfy stay, cookware for meals and beach equipment. They have thought of everything. The beach and pool are the highlight of the stay and you really feel like you have your own private beach for the week. Would 100% recommend Blue Hues, we will be back again. Thanks to Rick and Jodi.

Wonderful property and owners!
Our family had an amazing experience at Blue Hues in the Bahamas! The property is absolutely beautiful, with stunning views of the clear blue water and an immaculate garden throughout the property. The amenities were plentiful and in great condition. The owner, Rick, is incredibly helpful, responsive and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. As others have mentioned I would prepare for bugs (noseeums and mosquitos) as we did all get bit despite using spray but this is to be expected for such a tropical region. The rest of the wildlife (sea turtles, peacocks, humming birds, lizards etc) we absolutely enjoyed! Thank you Rick and Jodi for sharing your piece of paradise with us! We truly had an incredible time!!

Great property
We enjoyed our stay! Rick or Ricky as the locals call him was a fantastic host!!! Location was incredible and he is meticulous with the property. This may have been the most beautiful property we have ever stayed in. Do note that checkout is at 10 AM which is different from other VRBOs that we have visited and depending on your departure flight, you may need to plan accordingly as we had to sit at Kermit's by the airport for 5 hours (food and drinks, but it's the only option). One other note, we planned our trip utilizing Rick's list as well as research. Almost all of the restaurants were closed since it is slow season in October. We look forward to another visit and hitting many of the rest auth at we're closed on our first visit.

5 star Paradise
We stayed at Blue Hues this week and it was nothing short of breath taking! 5 stars! The owners are very communicative and went above and beyond making sure we had all pertinent information for the home and the island. The main house is 3 bed 2.5 bath and the guest house is fully equipped with 1 bed/1bath. The home is beautiful (beds super comfy) and has everything you can think of! The home sits on 2 acres of beautiful lush gardens and has a private pool and pool deck with chairs and umbrellas. It’s is centrally located in Old Hoopers Bay so makes things very convenient (only 10 min from the airport). Plenty of outdoor seating, a bar b que (we used many nights), a beautiful gazebo and a path that leads you to your private beach (about 50 yards from the house). The house has everything you need for the beach and the pool! I can’t recommend this highly enough! The views are incredible and the home is very private yet very accessible! You will not be disappointed with this home. All of our guests agree!

Just Another 5-Star Review
First and foremost, Rick, you are an exceptional host! You made our vacation to Exuma, one for the record books! Thank you so much. I scrolled through a number of the 5 star reviews for Blue Hues, and it’s really hard to top some of the wonderful comments shared. I couldn’t agreed more with everything others who stood here had to say! What I would like to add are a couple of items that Blue Hues has to offer that might go unnoticed, but really stood out to me and my family. 1. The water cistern (tank) system is incredible! 2. We witnessed some intense storms during our stay, and the back up generators worked out beautifully. The kids never knew the difference. 😊 3. Wifi system is not only in the house but a second for outdoors as well (best for streaming music at the pool). Lastly, if you are planning on staying at Blue Hues, please take Rick’s recommendations and advice! Anything from airlines, excursions, rentals, chefs, bucket list items… the list goes on! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Rick was an exceptional host. The property was breathtaking. It’s got it all — views, comfort, amenities, beautiful gardens, exciting wildlife. But Rick goes above and beyond to ensure you know everything Exuma has to offer. He provided information about anything and everything we might want to try, see, eat, and do. By the time we arrived. I felt so prepared to enjoy the island and it’s beauty. And then the property exceeded all expectations! The house is just perfect. It’s well-stocked with all you need. And Rick is truly a text away if you need anything. The beds and comfy. The bathrooms are modern. We cooked a lot and the kitchen was great. We snorkeled at the private beach and saw a sea urchin the size of a basketball! We used the kayaks to see nearby sea turtles. We relaxed in the pool on the rafts. It was the perfect trip where we stayed active while really enjoying downtime. And much of this is thanks to Rick making sure we had everything we needed. We cannot wait to go back! Thanks, Rick, for all of your help and sharing this lovely property with us.

Amazing home
Rick & Jodi thought of everything for this home! Our family loved the layout of the home and property, the gorgeous beach with fabulous sunrises & sunsets and the location to town. The bedrooms were perfect for our 3 kids and our tallest teenager slept great on the pullout bed! The kitchen had spices and extra cooking items, the ability to use the washing machine and dryer allowed us to reduce luggage and the floats in the garage allowed us to float and talk in both the ocean and pool. We can’t say enough wonderful things about the home and the property and we can’t wait to return!

You won’t find a better property on Exuma and the owners are so helpful from the moment you book until departure. I have worked in hospitality for 30 years myself and their service is exceptional. Amazing Vacation Experience
I’m rarely compelled to leave a review, but this rental experience was exceptional. Our group rented the main house and the guest house for one week. The owners went above and beyond to be helpful and provided an abundance of information regarding the islands and their property to make our stay as convenient as possible. The finer details of this property are well thought out and it's well stocked with everything you need for a carefree beach experience! We will be returning next year!

OHB Stay
The place was great! Close to the beach with a very nice pool overlooking the water. Lots of chairs and toys for the beach, and even better they had 2 double kayaks to enjoy the bay. Plenty of dishes, spices, and small appliances for the kitchen. The beach was nice and quiet with only a few houses sharing it and no public access. Really great place to pick if you're staying in Exuma.

Breathtaking and Beyond All Expectations
From the moment you begin your drive into the glorious gardens of this property, you are transported to paradise! The lush gardens with their vibrant greens and colorful blooms are the perfect backdrop for the glowing blue sea. 360 degrees of pure heaven. You cannot capture the majesty of this place with a camera. The house is meticulously appointed with care and thought given to all needs- big and small. No detail was left unaddressed by the owner- 5 gallon water jugs, beach towels, top notch outdoor furniture, beach equipment galore, WiFi, etc…too many amenities to list. The view of the sea from the pool will forever be etched in our memories. And nothing quite compares to walking along what feels like your own private beach and watching sea turtles swim in the stunning blue water. Communication with the owner before, during, and after our trip was an absolute pleasure. We were provided with detailed instructions for the property and tips for our trip to the Bahamas. It was like having a personal concierge. With the helpful instructions provided by the owner, we booked excursions, rented a boat, enjoyed the most fabulous private dinner prepared by Chef Gavin, and explored the island. This property and in particular its owner are truly special!

Paradise in Exuma
It is hard to know where to start and what to highlight with this property. We've been renting through VRBO for over 20 years and have stayed across the world. Blue Hues is by far the top experience we have ever had. The property is amazing - private pool, private beach for all practical purposes, lush and well tended tropical gardens, the house amenities for the beach and water, and a house and guest house that met our very need. Exuma is beautiful wherever you stay. But I believe anytime we vacation here it will be at Blue Hues. Our kids snorkeled and fished everyday, we relaxed at beach and pool and house, and we all loved it (age group 19 - 82). All of that is made better by Rick, the owner. From the second we rented his information on pre-arrival, planning, arrival, and departure was fabulous. He was available anytime we had a questions and equipped us beyond any other owner we have ever worked with. This house itself is beautiful and perfect for multiple families or couples or anyone. Cleanliness was awesome and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook during our stay. I hate to leave such a great review because i fear it will be booked up next time we want it! Best Ever Bucket List Vacation
Amazing/Majestic/Dream Vacation— ALL of the previous reviews are spot on— If you want a fabulous vacation experience in the most spectacular home overlooking the best views of the stunning Exuma waters with lovely cascading steps/ walkways down to your secluded beach and guided through every facet of your vacation to assure you will want for nothing other than great weather ( which we were Blessed with)—- then book your next vacation with Rick!! From the moment you land on this magical little island until your departure its like being off the grid with unbeatable accommodations. Our first time here 6 adults was a “bucket list” trip to spend time in these spectacular waters/ beaches. Renting a car is a must as to get down from home to main highway is quite a trek.. then you can drive for miles to North/South ends of the island and stop at all of the local restaurants/ few grocery stores/ liquor shops. If you want to experience NO commercial hotels/no fast food restaurants / no stop lights / no stop signs — and experience the wonderful local flavor of this magical island with lovely / friendly people.. book this trip ! Blu Hues is centrally located close to everything / airport. Rick gives you all of the restaurant/ sightseeing info which we thoroughly appreciated.( and YES we had to pay close attention when driving— because its LEFT side driving)Lol! We enjoyed Splash( great salads/Thin Pizza) Mikes had Thick Crust Pizzas We went to The Exuma Yacht Club 2x and had the best time on Wednesday night live music with a Bahamian celebration— Sushi is outstanding as well as Calamari/ jerk chicken bowl! We also made the trip South to Santannas Beach Bar/ Grill for the Best Chicken wings we tasted on the island and Lobster Tail with fabulous service and yummy drinks! Beach is gorgeous there too! We treated ourselves to an indoor meal at Peace and Plenty in the Georgtown circle- delicious food in a nice air conditioned setting( most of the Island restaurants are opened air and unfortunately comes with flies swarming but they quickly light sterno burners on your table to deter them)! Definitely bring your insect spray( also recommended by Rick) with you when you go out — we had minimal insect issues- especially when you have the lovely breezes to keep them away! We thank Rick and his family for sharing this spectacular home — this trip was Magical!

This property is amazing and a nature lovers dream. Clean, private, with a magnificent view, and everything you could hope for (floats, kitchen amenities, pool and so much more). Beautiful home - perfect for a family!
We had an amazing week at Blue Hues! The property was even better than advertised, and Rick was so helpful with all of the pre-departure planning. We particularly loved the beach (which we almost always had to ourselves), and kayaking to see the turtles in Hooper’s Bay. The house itself was very clean and functioned perfectly for our family of five. Overall a great vacation - we can’t wait to go back!

Blue Views!
You can tell the owner (Rick) takes tremendous pride in his property and home(s). While we only rented the main home with 4 adults and 4 small children there was just the right amount of space for us all! The interior of the home is super clean and efficient. The outdoor shower was a major hit! With little children we felt we were only able to partially enjoy what Exuma had to offer. The semi-private beach was AMAZING during the less windy days and is far less rough than most other beaches on even the windy days. The location of the home is terrific and close to everything you need. When renting Blue Hues you get far more than just a rental. You get over the top service from Rick. I can’t say enough about his help for our first time on the island!

Amazing property
Absolute paradise! The three bedrooms worked perfectly for our family of four. The grounds are beautiful and the private community beach was gorgeous. We loved having access to everything in the kayak garage. We took a kayak adventure over to Hooper’s beach to see the turtles. It was great to have the beach chairs and snorkel gear for beach hopping. The proximity to Georgetown and groceries was excellent. Prime Island Meats and Smitty’s were super convenient and had a great selection. We rented a boat from Minn’s for 3 days and it was a very quick drive each morning. Rick is an incredible host and virtual tour guide with an abundance of information about the island. We’ve traveled to many Caribbean islands and have never experienced beaches or friendliness of the locals that compares to Exuma. We will definitely be back in the future!

Sublime all around
We enjoyed a wonderful week at Blues Hues in Exuma. The home was in great condition, the beds were comfortable, the location was superb and all of the amenities we needed were on site and in good condition. We enjoyed the privacy of the lovely home, terrace, pool and beach and were pleasantly surprised at how well organized everything was, including all of the water toys (kayaks, chairs, coolers, snorkles etc.) you might need. The host is top notch with communication too and provided lots of good pretravel info and there's also lots of good info/labeling once you get to the home. We are a pretty picky group about lodging and location and this home delivered! I woke up every day and had coffee out on the patio lounge chairs overlooking amazing blue water. The view is just incredible. We were able to snorkel out to a little reef from the beach and had a sea turtle that visited the beach ever day around 3:30. We had some wind a few days but the water was still easily swimable. We kayaked to Hooper's Bay to see more turtles. We grilled and prepped lots of food at home and had everything we needed. We used the pool a little too but the beach was so great we spent a lot of time down there when we weren't exploring the island's offerings. There are beach chairs and a tree that provides some nice shade. This location is close to town/groceries etc. but also very private and quiet. We'd definitely visit again. It was an all around awesome trip and we have lots of gratitude for these wonderful hosts who help make our vacation so wonderful! A+

We LOVE Blue Hues!!!!
Blue Hues is amazing!!! The house and property is absolutely stunning!! Words and pictures aren't enough to describe our experience. The grounds and landscaping are amazing. The private beach and pool were so beautiful and convenient. The house was very comfortable and had everything we could have ever expected and beyond. The view from the patio and the pool, (and also from the house) is breathtaking. Rick and Jodi were exceptional. I spoke to Rick so many times before the trip and he is one of the most informative and helpful hosts I have ever rented from. He really set our expectations high and we had zero disappointments. Best trip ever! Not sure when we'll be traveling back to Exhuma but we would not even look to stay anywhere else. This is the perfect house and is in the perfect location.

Third time was a charm!
Thank you Rick and Jodi for sharing your home with myself, Julie, Mom and Captain Jack. Everything was as perfect and beautiful as ever. There’s nothing better than relaxing by the pool with a cold beverage and just getting lost in the unobstructed beach views. Afternoon’s on the private beach are just as equally beautiful and relaxing. Our favorite part of everyday was the morning where we would wake up, get our coffee and watch the sunrise in amazement and see something new and different each time. It’s just amazing. Rick and Jodi you have made your home a very special place that our family has come to love. For whoever is reading this and you are in need of the perfect place to rest, relax and enjoy life, you need to do yourself a favor and book a stay as soon as possible. You won’t regret it. When out and about you will see that the island and the locals are absolutely amazing and inviting. We are now planning for our trip for next year and can’t wait to see what trip #4 will bring. Rick is awesome when starting to finishing the booking process. When you get to his property you just stepped into a movie. The place is absolute paradise. From the massive patio to the outdoor showers, swimming pool and beach setting with hammocks and all the toys you would want for a beach front vacation. They have really thought of everything, will be back again!!!

What an Amazing Week!

Your own private resort!
Blue Hues is beyond amazing. It is truly a resort rather than just a home rental. The secluded property is abundant with mature native and medicinal plants and trees. A nature lovers dream come true! Not to mention the evening visits from the peacocks. The peace and beauty cannot be explained. The private pool was welcomed for an evening dip or to escape the beach for a spell. The beach was beautiful....and ended up being the best snorkeling and kayaking experiences we had right there. No need to book a trip for those. The home was incredibly clean and organized with all needed essentials and no clutter. Lastly, you could not ask for a better host/owner. Rick was informative and attentive through and through. We will surely return.
