Unique property, adjoining renowned recording studio, ideal for musicians, writers and artists, as well as families exploring the Ardnamurchan Peninsula.. Ground Floor:

Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. Oil central heating, underfloor heating (on the ground floor), electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Cot. ¼-acre gravelled garden with raised beds, patio and garden furniture. 5-acre grounds (shared). Bike store. Private parking. No smoking. Please note: The property has a private water supply from the hillside. There is a stream close by.. Adjoining one of the finest recording facilities in Scotland and offering a quiet, inspiring location for musicians, writers, artists and families. Close to the village of Ardgour with views across Loch Linnhe, this semi-detached holiday cottage is ideal for those wishing to explore the Ardnamurchan and Morvern Peninsulas and the Inner Hebrides with their stunning scenery, walks, fishing, golf and wildlife. It is also 35 minutes’ from the ’Harry Potter’ viaduct at Glenfinnan. Supermarket online deliveries can be made to the area. Local artisan food and crafts, and farm produce can also be found nearby. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

We couldn't fault this place.

We couldn't fault this place. It was perfect for us & our 3 nervous dogs that need that extra space. A large, mostly secure garden (a 5 ft stone wall along one side and a 6ft deer fence along the other). Location - not particularly difficult to get to. Ferry is no hassle at all especially if you time it right. Very relaxed and helpful owners living in the house next door (not attached). I've got a lot more of Scotland to explore but I expect this will be one of my favourite places, and look forward to returning in the future. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Watercolour is a lovely house in a great location and Mary Ann was a really friendly and helpful host. Their dog, Rycote is lovely and we really enjoyed his daily visits. The house had good equipment, comfortable seating and plenty of hot water. It was a great base for hiking. The view to Ben Nevis from the lounge was amazing. We would love to return. An absolutely beautiful property, well furnished and equipped, in a stunning, very tranquil location

An absolutely beautiful property, well furnished and equipped, in a stunning, very tranquil location. We were a family of 6 adults and two dogs and fitted in perfectly. We felt welcomed by the owners, who live nearby, from the minute we arrived. There are lovely walks from the door or by crossing the Corran ferry, after a short drive, the whole of Glen Coe opens up for some more serious walking. Although there are no nearby shops we never found that a problem with a bit of forward thinking. All of us are hoping to book up for another visit next year.

Watercolour is a special place with home from home comfort. An ideal location to use as a base for exploring. The garden is secure and huge. Ben Nevis is visible from the comfort of you sofa. The hosts are amazing and are willing to help at every turn. Water colour isca beautifull place and once you have been....you will not want to leave x x x

This is an amazing place to stay in an idyllic setting.

This is an amazing place to stay in an idyllic setting. Quite remote across the Corran ferry but local beauty is exceptional with an amazing view of Ben Nevis. The owners live in a neighbouring cottage and could not be nicer or more helpful. We would definitely go back. Very pet friendly.

We loved it. It’s in a beautiful part of Scotland. Great view of Ben Nevis. It is lovely and remote. We really appreciated Nick and Mary Ann allowing us to bring our dogs. Nick and Mary Ann and their dog Ryster are lovey people. Would highly recommend their cottage. ❤️

We really enjoyed our break at Watercolour, stunning scenery right from the living room, abundance of space for our little boy to play, far enough away from civilisation to be peaceful and undisturbed yet close enough when you need a few provisions or an evening out. We appreciated the welcome from the owner and the discount for the Corran ferry (it's very expensive). Local amenities are a long drive either north around Loch Linnhe to Fort William or south and cross on the ferry to Ballachulish/Fort William. It's a shame there isn't even a village store close by, but if you plan your provisions Watercolour has a mini freezer and large fridge to store things. The washing machine and dishwasher were added bonuses. We found Watercolour to be mostly clean and tidy, just a bit dusty in places, but apparently the previous guests had left with the keys so perhaps the owner didn't get enough time to get in and prepare for our arrival? Overall it was acceptably clean though, certainly didn't warrant a complaint and we just ran the hoover and a cloth around and it was done in 20 minutes. If you enjoy books, local music and a good DVD, the collection in Watercolour will keep you occupied for many many cosy nights in. There was even an upright piano which our little boy adored straight away! We really wished we'd booked another week, one just wasn't enough to fully appreciate the area and explore further afield. We had a hawk walk with Finn's Falconry at Inverawe and stocked up on smoked salmon from the smoke house. We managed to visit Oban's McCaig's Tower, took the Jacobite across the Glenfinnan Viaduct to Mallaig where we enjoyed Cullen Skink and Langoustines in The Clachain Inn, strolled across the white sands of Sanna and flew our kites and explored rock pools or paddled in the crystal clear waves. We cycled up Neptune's Staircase in Fort William and onwards along the Great Glen Way to the lighthouse at Gairlochy, highly recommended. We also cycled up the landrover track next to the River Scaddle which runs about a hundred yards from Watercolour, another great bike ride. We highly recommend Watercolour for large families or groups of 4 or more, and the surrounding area is outstanding if you like the great outdoors.

We had a superb time at Watercolour.

We had a superb time at Watercolour. What an amazing location - absolutely stunning. Totally remote, yet a short ferry hope over to Fort William. We stayed as a family of five (three older children) plus two dogs and everyone had an absolutely amazing time - perhaps the dogs above all! Safe, enclosed grounds. Amazing walks all around - even right from the door if you fancy. Mary Ann and Nick are fantastic hosts. I really hope we will be back soon!
