If you like being on and in the water, you can canoe, kayak, or float down the historic New River for a fun-filled two hours or an entire day. Bicyclists will find plenty of routes to take; one of the most popular is the nine-mile riverside route that also follows the old railroad tracks between Todd and Fleetwood just steps away from the cabin.

Check out the weekly Farmers Market, monthly Art Stroll, and quarterly performances done by the local Ashe County Little Theatre.
