Three Daughters is a charming mountain home nestled in Leatherwood Mountains Resort—perfect for making lasting memories with family and friends. Accommodating up to six guests, the home features a well-equipped kitchen, spacious dining and living area with a wood-burning fireplace, and a hot tub on the deck with stunning Blue Ridge views.

Guests can also access an unfinished basement rec area with a ping pong table, TV, and sectional sofa (note: not climate-controlled). For horse lovers, Three Daughters offers direct trail access and a large fenced turnout—please ensure horses are compatible, as no stalls or shelter are provided.

Important trailer info: Roads are steep and narrow—only two-horse bumper pull or gooseneck trailers under 20 feet are recommended. Trailer access is limited, and Leatherwood is not responsible for vehicle or trailer damage. Management may relocate horses to the Equine Center if pasture conditions require it. $25 per horse/night. Two-horse limit.

This home is located in the 4000 acre, Leatherwood Mountain Resort in Ferguson, NC. Our guests are invited to enjoy our Horseback Riding program where you can experience the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains pristine wilderness by Horseback (reservation required). You will have access to miles of hiking trails, mountain streams, stocked fishing pond, community swimming pool, play ground and tennis courts, creek tubing (seasonal), on-site restaurant with active live music & event calendar (guest advised to check hours when planning meals).

Leatherwood Mountains has surveillance or recording devices on the property. Our neighborhood is very safe and our property very secluded. For added peace of mind, we have security cameras by the gated entrance and common areas. Individual properties may also have cameras on the EXTERIOR of homes. Please be assured they are not directed at private areas, hot tub porches etc.

For a place that advertised as a get away, which it is the owner needs to spend some money on repairs and upkeep. View is amazing but cabin overall for that amount of money needs some work.

Another amazing stay!

This was our second time staying at Three Daughters - we love it so much! The views are amazing, the kitchen is stocked with the essentials, there’s space for everyone. We had fun on our adventures and also enjoyed down time at the house - it was the perfect vacation! We didn’t want to leave! Thanks again for a wonderful vacation!

Best Mountain Getaway Experience

My family and I couldn’t not stop obsessing over the views from this property. Unforgettable! This house was very clean and had all the amenities you could hope for. Beds were comfortable, hot tub was hot and bugs were limited. We loved exploring nearby trails right from our backyard (just down the horse pasture). It was so fun and so memorable. The best and most unexpected experience we witnessed was the firefly light show we saw on our last night here. It was like a concert outside or a closeup version of a starry night. Absolutely magical! If you get the chance to stay here, turn off all lights at night and step outside. It’ll be worth it. We are so grateful for our time here.

Too many lady bugs but a peaceful getaway with fam

It was nice to have a king size bed in the master. However, it was very hard. The amount of lady bugs was alarming. Sweeping up hundreds of dead ones at least twice a day. Plus a few wasps and one giant spider. The hot tub and views were amazing. Not sure if I would return. There was good internet.

Great trip

We had a great time staying at three daughters! The Leatherwood community was beautiful and the views from the hot tub were amazing. There was a good amount of lady bugs as mentioned in the listing so you just need to be prepared to sweep them out a few times a day. Overall great family trip!

We loved that the house was in Leatherwood Resort and the many hiking options, including hiking from right outside the house. We enjoyed sunset views from the hot tub and a toddler friendly set-up in the house.

Lovely weekend in comfort and nature

Three Daughters is as described. The property was extremely well maintained and clean. The access to trails from the bottom of the property was particularly nice. We enjoyed the hot tube in the evenings as it was accompanied by some terrific star viewing. Leatherwood Resort has lots to do (horseback riding, bike rental, tubing in warmer months and plenty of hiking) but it is about 30 minutes to the nearest town. So be prepared to have most meals in the cabin. We enjoyed the relaxing view of the mountains and cool air. Perfect place to relax!

Great vacation

The area is beautiful. When we normally vacation in the Smoky Mountains, we hit the Blue Ridge Parkway or App Trail. This property had quite a bit to offer and found that we didn't even need to leave the area. We hiked a few trails, the kids loved being around the horses, we enjoyed the hot tub and view from the deck. I'd definitely recommend and would stay here again in a heartbeat. It was quiet, private, scenic, and the kids loved every minute.

Beautiful Property

Beautiful property and home up on the mountain. Very secluded with a great view from the front porch and hot tub! If you're looking to get away from everything and have some peace and quiet, this is it. Leatherwood seemed to be a great little community with a restaurant/bar and horseback riding available at the base of the mountain. There are lots of trails to hike (or ride your horse) on the hill and in the neighboring towns. Close enough to Wilkesboro, Blowing Rock and Boone for hiking, breweries, and restaurants. Be prepared for no cell service when driving to the property but there is wifi at the restaurant and at the house. I would recommend grocery shopping before you get there as it is a ways to the nearest store.

We had a great time!

Three Daughters was exactly what my boyfriend and I needed to get away for a weekend. It was a great size for just the two of us and our dog. The hot tub was amazing, the king bed was so comfortable and the location was perfect with trails near by. My only feedback was the TV/DVD player was a little confusing to work. We tried to watch a movie one night and there were no instructions on how to work the TV/DVD in the living room. Also, there's a wood burning fireplace. They provide the wood but make sure to bring a starter log and/or tinder to get it going. Other than those two little things that I'd change, it was perfect! We will definitely be back to visit.

Awesome stay @ Three Daughters

We had a great time at this spacious cabin tucked away in the Leatherwood Mountains. Hiking/horseback riding on site, soaking in the hot tub and bonus ping pong table were wonderful. Proximity to Boone/Blowing Rock was not an issue, as we enjoyed the backroads drive and gorgeous scenery.

Great stay

Beautiful cabin with an incredible view. However, the air conditioning did not work during our stay. I would say this would be the perfect cabin for a much cooler climate. Other than that the cabin was very clean & had everything we needed.

Relax, rest, and heal

beautiful. The layout of the house was ideal. Consideration would be wonderful if: 1) I knew your kitchenware--I'll bring my cast iron pans next time=the pans coating isn't good for us health nuts. 2)The loud beating heard primarily in the back bedroom-nearest to the drive way. It might come from the air conditioner. Otherwise all was well!!

Nice change of pace

This is a nice property and while in a community there is a lot of privacy. Purpose of our visit was to unplug and stress relieve. The property is good for this purpose as nothing city or shopping wise is within 30 minutes.
