"Note that the property is pretty old, so you will sleep in smells of mold/old wood/old sewage system etc for the night. Not too strong tho, tolerable considering the price and location. Otherwise the place was fine. Spacious room, helpful and friendly staff, 3 min drive away from Departure Bay, nice Harbour view, quiet, etc."

"We came over for just a quick little over night getaway for our 4th anniversary and we definitely had an amazing time! The staff were very welcoming and went over and above by giving us a beautiful room over looking the ocean which the view was breathtaking as well as a yummy treat of Nanaimo’s famous bars in our fridge. Since we were limited to whereabouts to go as we didn’t have our vehicle we had dinner at the hotel restaurant. Although they were out of a couple of items we were thinking of...

"Stall accommodated my Expedia request for an early check in, as we flew in by seaplane at noon. That was perfect after a long morning of travelling. Front desk staff helpful in pointing out attractions and shopping and dining. However we ate twice in the hotel’s restaurant as the food as service was great. This must be a fun place to work, even the housekeeping staff were above and beyond"

"Window has no screen and dirty. Air conditioning is making loud noise with fan running but does not cool the space. Bathroom sink does not drain well. Check-in took ~30 min. There is no common space or breakfast room. No one helped to check out. The laundry room which services the entire hotel is dirty. Noted homeless people staying under the exterior stair. Booked with Expedia which rates 8.2. Honestly don’t know how it gets rated with this high rating. Very disappointed and Certainly not...

"I’ve never written a review until now. This place was filthy. Immediately upon walking in, clumps of hair all over the floor, mysterious splatters on walls and doors, the bathroom felt more unclean than your average public restroom. If you stay here, bring shower shoes. We checked out and last minute booked a room elsewhere. The photos online did NOT represent the room we were given in the slightest. Curtain also has mysterious black colouring that the other rooms didn’t have. It really just...

"This is not the hostel you’re dreading to book for economic reasons. It was such a pleasant stay, the amenities are ample, the gentleman downstairs is super helpful and kind. I would absolutely stay here again."

"There were available parking stalls. The room was not very clean. They must have just painted it during the day as it was full of paint fumes. There were no side tables for either bed. The bedding was questionable one top sheet looked like it was actually a tablecloth. Only 3 light bulbs worked and the bathroom door didnt close."
